Chapter 1 - Louis

Louis Tomlinson was a well-known name around the University of Manchester, he is the school's football captain and is obviously the best player on the team. People look up to him, respect him, and some are even a little afraid of him. When he came out as bi in his second year at university (last year) there were some people who were less than kind. So Louis had to stand up for himself to make them back the hell off and mind their own business. Now that he is captain no one dares to say anything to his face and if anyone says anything behind his back his best mates Liam and Stan made sure to shut that shit down. Liam and Stan are the only ones who know that Louis is mostly talk, he wouldn't hurt a fly unless he was protecting someone else. But it helped that people believed that he would pound their face into the ground if they kept up with the homophobic comments. But everyone has their breaking point, sooo maybe he would? His one weakness is how protective he is of the people he loves, he can't stand anyone messing with his mates or his family. For them he would fight until his knuckles were bloody. But when it comes to himself he would rather threaten with words than actually fight. He also always knows everything going on around campus, because who doesn't love a little gossip?? And sometimes that information can come in handy. Since he became captain he has tried to make academics a priority for the team members and also made sure that they volunteered within the community.

Harry Styles is also a name that is always falling off of everyone's tongue. Louis and Harry are both popular but in different ways, their social circles don't exactly overlap. Louis has his opinions on campus' golden boy but he has never had to deal with Harry personally. He despises how much attention Harry gets and how no one has ever given him a hard time about his sexuality. Louis had to deal with homophobic comments, bullying, and some beatings for a year before he was able to get people to accept it. While (in his opinion) Harry Styles struts around campus being worshiped by everyone around him. Everyone falls all over themselves to be allowed in Harry Styles' orbit. No one dares to say a single bad thing about the bloke, because he is just too nice to hate.

Although that all might start to change when suddenly their lives are forced together and he has to get to know the person behind the beloved façade that is Harry Styles...

Louis' POV

I am on the football pitch warming up with my team when I hear a familiar laugh booming from the bleachers clawing it's way into my ears. A deep, milky smooth voice drawing out the sentences as they leave his mouth is filling the air around me. Anyone on campus would recognize that laugh, that voice, it of course originates from the infamous Harry Styles.

Harry Styles is a name that everyone knows around the university, everyone likes him, even the professors. There isn't anyone that has a single bad thing to say about the perfect, polite, charming, and obviously stunning Harry Styles. Well... except for me. Yes unfortunately even I can admit that he is probably the most attractive guy on campus. But I also know there is no way that anyone can be that perfect, I just know that Harry is this smug kid who expects attention and adoration from everyone around him, and honestly he is just a spoiled brat. He is the most conceited guy on campus and revels in the attention of others. He can't go one minute without his admirers hoarding around him. None of them can see through his façade but there is no way I am that naïve. It's impossible for him to be that genuine; he has to expect something in return. He does all of it for attention and well... it has worked. Everyone falls at his feet begging for his attention and all he has to do is flash his dimples and they melt into a pitiful puddle on the ground.

Even IF I have never interacted with him directly... I still know that I am right. Harry meanders through campus greeting everyone he passes because apparently, he knows everyone by name and he expects everyone to know him. God he is so pretentious! I don't know how everyone doesn't see it!! Every boy and girl on campus fawns over him hoping they'll be the one he chooses. There isn't anyone on campus that doesn't want to be part of Harry's life; they circle him like vultures foaming at the mouth waiting for him to notice them.
