The ship was deadly silent and so lonely with only the faint red light still flashing with the oxygen level showing that it fell into the lowest level.

O%

It was hauntingly sad how the ship once filled with laughter and loud noises fell so silent with not even the sound of faint breathing heard. Like time had stopped completely with the ship just drifting freely in space just like how the whole world fell at a loss.

Everything felt like it could be disrupted in a matter of seconds awaiting the sound of the ball dropping for the ship that just attached to the larger ship. The seconds were ticking by and the deathly silence was soon disrupted by the large opening where six people with masks emerged with crazed looks on their faces.

Seokjin ran forward and looked at the red flashing light as he passed the room before he let the tears roll down his cheeks with the haunting words repeating in his mind.

O% oxygen level

The hope was no longer there but desperation hanged heavy in all their hearts to just see it was a lie and somehow Yoongi survived. They hoped that he somehow found a forgotten oxygen mask and tank, that he was sitting in the room he loved the most, that he would look at them when they entered the room and run up to them and that there was still warmth in his body.

Namjoon, Hoseok and Jungkook all ran to check in the rooms as Seokjin ran straight to the only room he could think of with Jimin and Taehyung following him. The others followed straight after they quickly checked the room with focused eyes.

All of them felt their hearts beating wildly and reach up to their throat as they barged into the room that held such fond memories but it all felt like their world collapsed to the ground when they froze in their steps.

None of them made a single move and Seokjin dropped the oxygen mask in his hands as he stumbled forwards breaking the frozen silence from them all.

"No....Yoongi..." His voice felt so little and it was barely a whisper as he reached out to the pale body on the couch with tear tracks on his cheeks and a faint smile.

"We...we are...we are too late" Hoseok breathed the words out and choked on a so before he rushed forwards and fell to his knees before the still body.

Yoongi looked so pale, like he lacked any warmth even with the artificial glow in the room and small smile on his face. He looked like he was sleeping but in a frozen state with time not being a concept to him or that he was stuck in a picture lacking any life from his actual form.

Taehyung reached out and let out a full body shiver at the coldness of Yoongi's cheek. He looked so closely to check for the faintest of breaths that could possibly leave and enter his body but the tears in his vision blocked him from breaking down at the sight of stillness in his hyung's body.

Namjoon pushed himself forward and did the first thing that came to mind. He checked for a pulse on Yoongi's wrist before he checked by his neck. He finally broke and let out a loud sob while holding onto Yoongi's cold and limp hand.

"H-Hyung... Hyung's not breathing...I'm so sorry we were late. I'm s-so sorry" The others broke down even more and Seokjin leaned over more before he pulled Yoongi into his arms and placed Yoongi's head on his shoulder. He squeezed him tightly in a hug as he cried for one of his best friends that meant so much to him.

"I-I'm so sorry you were alone Yoongi. Y-You deserved better than to be alone d-during your last breath. Hyung's.... Hyung's here now okay? Just...just s-sleep we'll Yoongi-yah. Don't w-wory about us anymore. I'm sorry y-you didn't know about us living...the...the day we meet again can't come any sooner" He cried harder as he hugged Yoongi closer hoping to fulfill his last promise of hugging him when he saw him again.

In the end...they were together with one less breath

They wrapped Yoongi up in his favorite blankets and tucked him in to get him ready to bring back to the new planet. They planned to give him a proper funeral and a place where he could finally rest without being alone again. All of them felt so empty as they looked at the state of the ship and nothing could beat the overwhelming guilt of leaving him alone for so long as they saw the photos that kept him company and how their rooms still looked the same like he was waiting for them to come back.

Jungkook broke down when he saw the calender and the marked date and he realised they missed him by just a little time. If they left a day earlier then they would have been able to save him but it was too late, a horrible fate for his hyung that died alone and who held onto them for a whole year not knowing what happened to them at all.

He probably thought they were dead and that they would be reunited which broke his heart but he silently promised that one day they would be together again. When the day would come he would smile with tears in his eyes knowing they would meet their beloved friend and brother with arms wide open.

He just hoped that his hyung was with his family and that he was happy. Nobody deserved it more than him and they all agreed to that statement without a second thought.

In the end they gathered small memories but left the large ship as they departed with it having Yoongi on the smaller ship with a few things they took along. The ship held too much memories and without Yoongi it only felt like torture imagining how he spent his time all alone so they set off on their journey while looking back at the ship with glazed eyes and empty hearts.

They lost one of their small family members....they lost their brother...it was more important to have him than to hold onto the ship

They were too late and now six people sat with one cold and lifeless body... In the end their hope dissapeared
