I try to think of a way to reassure her, but she's right.

We have to accept the inevitable.

I've been dreading this since I fell in love with her.

My future mate will probably figure it out right away and how Alana and I felt about each other.

Unfortunately I get it because if I knew about my mate being friends with a guy she used to love, I would be upset too so I get it.

I step forward and wrap her up in my arms, setting my chin on top of her head.

"I wish there was something I could do."

"Unfortunately there's nothing, we knew this day was coming" She said against my chest.

"Maybe there is something we can do

" Anax said.

Like what? She's human.

"Why don't we talk to Gwen, she might know" He said.

I kiss the top of her head. "Why don't we enjoy the time we have together. We still have 6 months until my birthday."

"Yeah, we could do that" She said.

"I need to get out of here" She said.

I furrow my eyebrows and look at her.

Recently I've been able to hear bits and pieces of her thoughts.

I was never able to do that before, especially since she's not a werewolf, but maybe now that I'm back our bond is stronger and I'm able to hear her thoughts sometimes.

Maybe it's like when I can feel her strong emotions.

Like right now I can feel the sadness coming off of her and I fucking hate I can't do anything about it.

Ajax whines in my head, wanting to help Alana but knowing nothing will help.

She pulls away from the hug and steps back.

She clears her throat. "Ok, I'm gonna head home since I have to work on the store website" She said.

I understand babygirl.

She gasps and her eyes widen. "Holy shit" She said in disbelief.

I furrow my eyebrows. "What?"

"I just heard what you said in my mind" She said.

"What? How is that possible?"

She shakes her head. "I don't know, all of a sudden I head you say I understand babygirl" She said making my eyes widen.

"That's weird, but recently I've been hearing your thoughts here or there, like earlier I heard you say get away from him when you saw Gillian touch me and a few minutes ago I head you say I need to get out of here."

"Shit, how is this possible? I'm not a werewolf" She said.

I shrugged. "Maybe it's because of our bond."

"Maybe. Why don't we try to something. I'll say something in my head and see if you hear it" She said.

"Ok, it's worth a shot."

"Ok, I'm gonna start now" She said.

I wait a few seconds for her voice to pop into my head, but I didn't get anything.

I shook my head. "It didn't work."

"That's weird, why don't you try" She suggested.

"Ok."
