" ALRIGHT. it says that we still need one tear, and i never cry," mal states, looking up from her spell book.

"let's just chop up some onions," carlos says picking one up from the bin next to him.

"no," mal wines. "it says that we need one tear of human sadness. and this love potion gets the best reviews, so we have to follow it exactly."

jay moves his head back and forth, "a tears, a tear."

"that's not true, jay. they both have, antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex tear," evie explains, handing gia flour.

"listen to you," gia teases, sprinkling the powder into the mixing bowl.

jay looks in disbelief, "yeah, i knew that," he says, lying.

carlos slaps his chest, "did not," he says.

"yeah, i did," jay states.

the door opens and lonnie comes through, "there you are, mal!" she exclaims, "i was looking for you. you know, all the girls want you to do their hair!" she says. mal giggles, "oh and carlos, raina has been looking for you too. oh, midnight snack, huh? whatcha guys making?" she asks.

carlos smiles softly as mal shakes her head, "nothing special, just cookies," she says. lonnie takes her finger and takes a little bit of cookie dough out of the bowl. "oh. no, NO!" mal exclaims.

lonnie pauses, tasting the cookie dough, "what? i'm not gonna double dip," she states.

evie raises an eyebrow, "feel anything?" she asks.

"yeah, like maybe it might be missing something?" mal asks.

jay takes a step forward and leans on a pole, "hey there," he says flirtatiously.

lonnie looks at him confused, "it could use some chips," she replies, looking back to evie, mal, and gia.

jay pouts, "chips?" he asks.

lonnie makes her way to the freezer grabbing a container of chocolate chips, "and those are?" mal asks frustrated, mixing the dough.

"chocolate chips, just the most important food group," lonnie replies, excitedly. she grabs a handful, "wait, didn't your moms ever make you guys, like, chocolate chip cookies?" she asks sprinkling them into the bowl. mal, evie, and gia look into the bowl seeing the little brown bites of chocolate. "like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk and she just makes you laugh and everything into perspective and," she pauses, seeing the looks of the girls' faces, "why are you all looking at me like that?"

mal shrugs, "it's just different where we're from," she replies nonchalante.

lonnie looks around, "yeah, i know. i just, you know, i thought, even villains love their kids," she says, awkwardly, hoping that what she's saying is somewhat true. "oh. how awful," she adds, seeing the looks on the villain kids faces. a tear falls down the side of her face as she holds mal's hand. mal looks up and gasps, wiping lonnie's tear of of her face and into the dough.

"yeah, well, big bummer, but we have to get these into the oven," she says, brushing her hands off, "so thank you so much for coming by, really, really have a good night. i'll see you tomorrow evil dreams," mal says as lonnie goes to the door.

"goodnight guys," she says walking out the door.

mal claps her hands together, "okay, boys, cookie sheet," mal orders. jay gets off the counter, "evie, oven."

"yes ma'm," evie replies.

gia walks over to carlos and leans on the counter he's sitting on, "so, blondie's looking for you now. what's going on with that?" she asks.

carlos' cheeks warm slightly at the question, "uh, i don't know, i mean, she's gorgeous, she's genuinely kind, and she helped me get over my fear of dogs," he rambles.

jay comes back over to the counter, "so that's where this rascal came from. actually that doesn't explain it," he corrects himself.

carlos smiles, "yeah, she said that dude is the campus mutt, but that she's his favorite. and then i don't know he just kinda followed me back to the dorm and hasn't left my side since," carlos explains.

"wait are we talking about raina? cause i can so get on board with you and her. she's so sweet i love her," evie says, earning a glare from gianna. "what? she complimented my style, not many people here will do that. she has my blessing carlos," she says, resting her hand on his shoulder.

gianna rolls her eyes, "oh yeah, she's great other than the fact that her mom and dad almost killed my mom," she says.

carlos looks at her and frowns, "i'm sorry gianna, but raina has no control of how her parents act. just like we don't. i feel like we should respect that and not judge someone off of their parents actions," mal speaks up from behind the counter. carlos looks back and smiles at the purple haired girl for having his back.

"alright then. uhm, on that note, i'm going to bed. goodnight everyone," jay says jumping off the counter and walking towards the door.

gianna walks out, silently, leaving just mal, evie, carlos, and dude.

carlos thinks for a second, before speaking up, "hey mal. can i get one of those cookies? please?" he asks.

evie looks over, "carlos, if you like her, she'll like you back in no time. trust me. besides from what i hear, you got this in the bag," she replies.

"plus we can't have even more distractions between us and the wand," mal says.

carlos nods, "yeah, alright. night mal, night evie," he says, sliding off the counter, grabbing dude, and walking out of the kitchen.
