Chapter Five.

CH. 5

~Time skip~
(A couple of weeks later)

"So he was like, Jeager! I'll get you next time!"

We all laughed at the story about Eren pranking Jean the other day. He was quite a frantic storyteller.

We were heading for lunch. Eren, Armin, Mikasa, and I.

"I can't say it wasn't funny. But Eren, be more careful. I don't want you and Jean to fight. What if he hurts you?!" Said Mikasa in a mother-like way.

"Calm down, Mikasa. It's all good. Horse-face wouldn't dare hurt me. He knows I'll kick his ass!"

"More like Mikasa will." I said teasingly. "You would just frantically throw punches."

Armin and Mikasa laughed and Eren blushed.

"H-hey! I'm not that bad of a fighter, ya know!"

"Sure"

"It's funny how you two talk. Just go out already, dammit." Armin smirked as he saw both of us blush.

"I-it's not like that!" We said a bit too quickly.

"Anyways... Hopefully Jean isn't too mad. If he is, who knows what awful prank he'll pull on you?"

"Well, I don't really care. I'll just get back at him even worse." Said Eren confidently.

"If you say so..."

"Sup, shorty."

Someone patted my head from behind. Speak of the devil. It was Jean.

"I'm not that short, Jean!" I said as I slapped his hand away.

"Aww you're so cute when you're mad!" He said teasingly.

"Now, now Jean. Don't tease Gwenn. You know she'll kick your ass." Said Marco. "How's it going guys?" He said turning to the rest of the group.

"Okay I guess, I'm just hungry." Said Eren. "Ugh the lunch line is so long!!"

"Cmon Marco, I see Reiner and Bertholdt up ahead. Let's skip. You can come too, shorty." Said Jean with a wink.

"I think I'll stay back... You guys can go. We'll catch up later."

"Fine. What about you Mikasa? Wanna come with us?" Said Jean, winking again.

"No. I'm staying with Eren." She said without expression.

"Ugh. Fine. You guys are no fun. Let's go Marco."

They left.

"I knew Jean liked Mikasa, but I never knew he liked you too, Gwenn." Said Armin with an amused look in his face.

Eren froze.

"What are you saying, Armin? He doesn't like Gwenn. They're just friends. Right Gwenn? Just friends?" Said Eren somewhat quickly and nervously.

"Uh. Yeah. But are you okay Eren? You look a bit pale..."

"What? Are you okay Eren?! Do you need to go to the nurse?! I'll carry you if you need me to!!" Said Mikasa while shaking Eren.

"I'm fine! I'm fine! I'm just... Er... Hungry..." He turned around and got his food.

'What's up with him...?' I thought as I got my food.

We sat down at the table where Jean, Marco, Reiner, Bertholdt, and Annie were sitting.

Jean and I started talking.

"Today Ms. Hanji's class was crazy! I can't believe our flask exploded! Next time, I'll do the mixing, okay Jean?"

"Hey! It wasn't my fault! Marco probably messed it up."

"Hey don't get me into this! I was only in charge of getting the supplies and cleaning up this time!" Said Marco while chewing.

We laughed. But I also noticed Eren staring at Jean with an angry face. 'What's going on?' I thought.

"ANYWAYS... Hey Gwenn?" Said Eren.

"Yeah? What's up?"

"Are you coming to the Halloween dance?"

"Oh yeah! I totally forgot about that..." Everyone talked about the dance.

"Uh, there's a dance?"

Everyone stopped and stared at me.

"Well duh! Didn't you hear the school news?" Said Reiner.

"Uhh... No?" I did a little nervous laugh.
"Well now that I know about it, I guess I will. At what time?"

"Six." Said Jean. "Since Halloween is on a Friday, the principal is letting us make the party last longer. We get to stay until 12 am!"

"Oh that sounds really fun! We wear costumes, right?"

"Yeah. And some guys are already starting to ask the girls." Said Jean.

"Oh really? Have any of you asked anyone!" I asked the guys.

"Well, I asked Annie. And she agreed." Said Reiner blushing a little.

"Really Annie?!" We all said, surprised.

"Well yeah. Why not?" She said with her regular monotone. There was a faint blush in her cheeks though.

"That's really cute!" I said.

"Well, I guess I'll have to buy a costume, huh? Is there any regulation on the costumes?"

"Not really. Just nothing too short, for the girls."

"Alright then... Do you guys already have costumes?"

"NOPE." They all answered.

"How about we all go shopping tomorrow? It's Saturday after all. Then that way we will be ready for next Friday." I suggested.

"That sounds fun!" We all agreed.
