The weekend brought an unexpected invitation for Akira Kaneda. He received a text message from Yuki. The message was simple:

"Hey Ayanokoji, let's hang out this weekend. I'd like you to meet someone. Let's catch up at the café near campus at 2 PM. - Yuki"

Akira read the message, feeling a mix of curiosity and anticipation. His interactions with Yuki had been limited but meaningful, and he wondered who she wanted him to meet. He quickly replied, confirming that he would join her.

On Saturday afternoon, Akira made his way to a café they had agreed upon, a cozy place known for its relaxed atmosphere and excellent coffee. When he arrived, Yuki was already there, seated at a table near the window. She waved him over with a warm smile.

"Akira, it's good to see you," Yuki greeted as he approached.

"Good to see you too, Yuki," Akira replied, taking a seat opposite her. "So, who's this person you wanted me to meet?"

Yuki's smile widened. "Someone from our past. You'll remember him once you see him." She glanced toward the entrance, where a familiar figure was just walking in.

Shiro entered the café, his presence immediately recognizable. He was another survivor of the White Room, someone who had shared in the same intense experiences as Akira and Yuki. As he approached the table, Akira stood up to greet him.

"Shiro," Akira said, extending his hand. "It's been a long time."

Shiro shook his hand firmly, a smile playing on his lips. "It has, Ayanokoji. Or should I say Akira now?"

Yuki interjected, "Yes, in public, it's Akira Kaneda. We all need to respect that."

Shiro nodded, understanding the importance of the distinction. "Of course, Akira it is. It's good to see you."

They all sat down, and the waiter came by to take their orders. As they waited for their drinks, the conversation naturally drifted toward their shared past and their current lives.

"How have you been adjusting to life outside the White Room Akira?" Shiro asked, his tone genuinely curious.

Akira thought for a moment before responding. "It's been challenging but also rewarding. The university environment is a stark contrast to what we experienced, but I'm finding my way."

Shiro leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression on his face. "It's good to hear that you are doing well. I've been trying to find my path too, and it's been a journey."

Their drinks arrived, and they took a moment to enjoy the comforting warmth of their beverages. The café's ambiance provided a perfect backdrop for their conversation, a place where they could reflect on their past and look forward to the future.

As they continued to talk, Shiro shared stories of his own experiences since leaving the White Room. He had taken a different path, exploring various interests and trying to find his place in the world. The bond between the three of them was evident, a silent understanding of the trials they had endured together.

At one point, Yuki looked at Akira with a serious expression. "Akira, I wanted to thank you for being here. It means a lot to reconnect with both of you. We've been through so much, and it's important to keep these connections."

Akira nodded, feeling the weight of her words. "I agree. It's good to have people who understand our past and can support each other as we move forward."

Shiro raised his cup in a toast. "To new beginnings and enduring friendships."

They clinked their cups together, a symbolic gesture that carried deep meaning. The conversation continued, filled with laughter, shared memories, and plans for the future. The afternoon passed quickly, and before they knew it, it was time to part ways.

As they stood outside the café, Yuki turned to Akira and Shiro. "We should do this again sometime. It's good to stay connected."

"Definitely," Shiro agreed. "It's important to have these moments."

Akira smiled, feeling a sense of contentment. "I'd like that. Let's make it a regular thing."

They exchanged goodbyes and promises to stay in touch. As Akira walked back to his dormitory, he felt a renewed sense of purpose. The reunion with Yuki and Shiro had been more than just a meeting; it had been a reaffirmation of the bonds that had shaped him and a reminder of the strength he had gained through those connections.
