I had fun writing this fanfic this morning! Recommend it! Apologies if the story appears rushed! :) Enjoy!
That afternoon, Barley and Loretta were arguing over Barley not growing up or having a job at twenty three years old. Loretta pays all the rent, and this is how her husband pays her back by slamming the door and leaving her to cry outside the bedroom door? Barley had told her to leave and get out but she remained to determined to help her husband. it was their anniversary of the day they've first met, and she was just devastated, just as she was about to lean her head close to the door and close her eyes, clearly exhausted from changing her son's diapers, and helping her five year old daughter with her first homework assignment. As she walked away to sit on the couch to nap, a blue orb floated over towards her, it's beautiful glowing sphere beckoning her to follow. Loretta was confused, wait... where did it come from? Maybe this orb had the power to tell her about her past, or why did her mother leave her abandoned in the parking lot when she was six years, lost, scared, alone, until her father Edward Beanstalks noticed her and took her home, comforting her, she could remember her father determined to keep her deadbeat mother away from her. She had to find out, if this orb was going to help her, but she was about to get a surprise that she never expected. Slowly, she got up and followed the orb flew out the window into the forest, she felt like she was running forever trying to catch up, she felt the urge to continue following so she did.... The orb materializes into an elf with slick back dark blue hair, wearing a white jumpsuit, he noticed right away that Loretta had been crying, and her tear streaked face, He pulled her close, his touch was so enchanting, almost like she didn't want to let go. She tried to fight the feeling off but his touch was so magical, almost like a sleeping spell, his touch was that of a snuggly blanket. He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close to his chest. "Hello Darlin..."
She tried so hard to fight it off, just to do anything to be suspicious of this man, but in the end, she lost her battle, it was so hypnotizing, her head collapsed on his shoulder... his breath blowing on her neck. Her breaths were now steady and slowed down, she was almost asleep, It was almost as if this "gentleman" was a siren.
Loretta closed her eyes, resting on his shoulder, she had never felt truly happy in her life, and of course, it appeared that Barley had messed up her life enough. But deep down, she felt trapped, she felt like a bird in a cage.
Barley had been following her, and when he finally found her, he stopped in his tracks, he was stunned, Loretta was standing right next to an elf, but not just any elf, an elf who looked like he could take any girl by storm, and guess what? an elf, that could take the world by storm.
Barley peeked through the window. He felt terrible for giving her the silent treatment, this whole time. He felt horrible for turning up his Quest mix while she was sobbing and banging on the door. He felt awful for refusing to put down his phone to help with the chores and change their son's diaper... although he felt like a screw up in all situations. He couldn't let this elf woo her over, he had to do something, to prove he could be better. A better husband and father. He quickly picked up Christopher from his crib, strapping him inside his baby carrier pouch. "Don't worry... I got you kiddo... we're gonna save Mama..."Ian walked over, throwing his work clothes off. "What the... never mind, I'm coming with you. Chris cannot get hurt on this..." "quest."
Barley sighed, wanting to take Chris because he knew all the babysitters in the neighborhood were snobby, and some didn't take their job's seriously, Barley had a hazy memory of his babysitter named Tracey who was an awfully snobby elf who told him twisted stories to force him into good behavior, he remembered how angered Wilden was that he hid under the couch. He could tell his dad never forgave himself for that, even in death. Barley shook his head, forcing the flashback to end. He then took a deep breath before talking, trying to steady his breath.
