Finally, what she had been waiting for------- student council elections. Kara stares with gleam in her eyes. This is exactly what she needs, she turns over to her right to see Mason staring with as much awe as she is, her look of joy turns into disdain.
Coincidentally he turns to his side too and sees Kara.
"Stare much? " he smirks and walks away from her, his backpack hanging on one shoulder.

He's so full of shit, Kara thought. Why would he even think Kara would even care to stare at him, I mean SOME people may think he's attractive not Kara though but he DID have attractive qualities. With his dark black hair and green eyes, well defined jaw line, his olive skin, a smile that made most girls weak in the knees, not to mention he was built( not like anything, just built), he was tall around 6"1.
Kara was tall around 5"9 but he was taller.
All these features made him this schools resident playboy, every week there would be a "fuck you Mason!!" Written with red lipstick in the girls bathroom

Lost in thought, she didn't notice an annoyed Beverly marching her way.
"Babes!" Beverly said aggressively, not because she's annoyed at Kara but simply because she's fed up with her life at the moment.
"Oh sorry what is it?"
"Take a guess" Beverly said rolling her eyes.
"Hmmmm it's about Dane right."
"Yeah"said Beverly in an almost whispery tone
"What'd he do?"
" HE wants a relationship"
"Well that's great, you've liked him for a while no?"
"I wouldn't say I liked him per say"
"Really? How come I couldn't get the name DANE out of my ear"
" Okay maybe I liked him a little, but now I'm over it. You know relationships aren't my thing!"
"I know" Kara smiled, relationships weren't her thing too, but for completely different reasons.
" Ugh! I don't know what to do"
" How about, tell him how you feel?"
"But I don't want to hurt his feelings, he's actually pretty nice"
Kara gave a smile of assurance" I'm sure he'd understand. And if he doesn't, you made the right choice, you know what we say"
" Boys who can't handle rejection don't deserve affection"
" Precisely"
" Thanks boo, ugh why'd I have to be so cobsmacked hot "
" Yeah"Kara says chuckling.
" Anyway, back to you. Why're you in such a good mood?"
Kara raises her eyebrow and uses her eyes to gesture to the dozens of posters announcing student council elections.
" Ugh! Of course, you're such a nerd you know?" " You're gonna try to win?"
" Sweety, I'm not trying. I'm gonna win." Kara said as she smirked the thought of winning. She could already taste it.
" What about Mason?"
Her smirk into a frown" what ABOUT Mason?"
Kara said annoyed.
" He won last year-"
" He cheated"
" Uh! No he didn't babes. Look Mason's hot alright and smart, that's hard to compete with"
" I'm hot too."
" Not as hot as Mason--- or me. I mean I could win but I'm pretty dumb so-" Beverly lets out a laugh, she could take a jab at anyone, especially herself.
" Bev, this is 2023, hot doesn't matter anymore. Now it's all about inclusivity and guess who is an African American fffff-female running for class president. ME"
Beverly raises her eyebrow.
" That spot is mine"

After school
A cardillac picks Kara from school,as one does. Her driver in the front, talking her ear off again. Kara didn't really like him( he was a rambler) but she didn't know how to tell a 60 year old man to stop talking about his grand kids,so she just puts her headphones in an goes 'hmmm?' enough of times. It worked.

They reach their destination- Kara's home. I mean I wouldn't want beef with anyone who calls this a home. It was two stories tall, with marble pillars, mahogany door, the lawn grass was so green and trimmed to perfection, the drive way alone was so beautiful - gravel pathway, flower plants littered everywhere, oooh and there was a water fountain (how nice), then again what do you expect from the home of the mayor and a senator. I mean nothing short a water fountain with cupids butt cheek greeting me.

To the residents here, this was just their house. I mean they know how impressive it is but you know it's still not as impressive as their neighbor's. Kara gets out of the vehicle, subconsciously looking up to her right to see the beautiful monstrosity beside her and Mason walking out of it.
Her house was a more pastel, semi modern home, very inviting. Mason's however was a dark academia, very historian home, the two buildings didn't belong side by side, they look like they belonged in separate books, her's a very coming of age rich teen book and Mason's well probably about vampires.

"Hey cabbage" called Mason
Kara didn't bother to look or respond, she simply ignored him, walking inside and slamming the door behind her.
Kara's distaste for Mason seemed to grow outside of school, in school she could hate him for beating her score in a subject but at home she could just hate him for who he was as a person, and she felt the latter much more.
