Summary:

Grian spends his days fishing and Scar want to know why. He will stop at nothing to get answers to the many questions he has.

Aka, a Scarian get together story with lots of unnecessary fish related puns.

-------------------------------------------------------

"What are you fishing for?"

"GAH."

Grian gasped as he almost dropped the fishing rod in his hands, fixing Scar with a glare before focussing back on the water. "What's it to you?" he huffed. Scar chuckled as he sat down beside the other, feet dangling in the water.

"Maybe I can help?" he suggested with a smile. Grian shook his head. "I'm afraid not," he answered. He did not pay attention to the way Scar looked at him, eyes fixated on the bobber. "How can you be sure?" Scar asked, sounding like he wasn't really interested in the answer," If you don't tell me what it is?"

Grian chuckled. "Nice try, but I know you," he hummed," you just got too curious." Scar shrugged. "I can't help it, I'm curious by nature!" A silence settled on the two of them as one kept staring at the bobber, bobbing away in the water, while the other shot occasional glances at the fisherman. "Soooo... what is it your fishing for?" Silence. "Tropical fish?" A huff.

"Go fish."

Scar laughed loudly. "Don't tell me you're fishing for compliments," he said with a smirk. Grian snorted. Loudly. Scar almost winced as it sounded painful. "Love then?" he tried once more. Grian shot him a look and Scar wiggled his eyebrows. "No then?" Scar asked," Are you sure? Cause I could definitely drown you in compliments if you wanted to."

Grian shook his head with a laugh. "As much as I would enjoy that, I'm trying to concentrate," he answered. A beat of silence. "On what?" "Fishing!" Another beat of silence. "For what?"

"SCAR."

A fit of giggles escaped the taler's lips, making him look a bit like a mad man. It made Grian look at him with a fond expression. "It's none of your business, now scram! You're disturbing the water." Scar stood with a huff ad a puff. "Hmm," he hummed thoughtfully," sounds fishy." He left with the echoes of Grian's laughter following him back to his base.

-------------------------------------------------------

A splash of water made him open his eyes in surprise. "What are you doing?"

Scar shot him a blinding smile. "I'm helping you out," he said matter-of-factly. Grian raised an eyebrow as he looked Scar up and down. The taller had pulled out a fishing rod and managed to throw it so that the bobber was bobbing along next to Grian's.

"If we fish together, maybe we'll catch whatever it is you're fishing for faster," Scar explained. Grian let out a sigh, smile on his face. They sat together for a while, occasionally reeling in fish and some trash. "Oh, if we catch some weird looking fish, could we keep it for my Zoo?" Scar asked. "sure we can," Grian said, grabbing a bucket to dump his latest caught Cod in. He watched it swim around in circles for moment. His eyes then shifted towards the man dressed in way too short shorts, hat slightly crooked as he tried to whistle an old fisherman's tune. The small smile stayed on his face as it slowly got dark.
