" WHY do you torture them? just pick someone to take to cotillion already," carlos says, holding onto dude's leash as the group of vk's walk along girls basically physically falling head over heels for him.

jay sighs, "i'm going solo. that way, i can dance with all of them," he responds, laughing.

"ah, you're the expert," carlos says smiling, "uhm, jay. if you were to ask someone, what's the best way to go?"

jay tilts his head, "listen, all you gotta do, is look like me," jay replies, laughing.

"oh, ha, ha," carlos states sarcastically.

"oh mal!" jane says walking up the group, raina close behind her.

carlos looks at the blonde and his cheeks warm, "oh, hey rain," he says smiling softly.

"hey," she replies, matching his bright smile.

"i was wondering. uh," he pauses, causing the entire group to hold their breath, in hope he would finally do it. he looks around, causing raina to as well, "if you liked the, carrot cake, last night?"

raina smiles awkwardly, "oh, i had the apple pie," she replies.

carlos nods, "oh. cool. uh," he stutters.

"smooth," jay says, pulling him away from the girl.

raina smiles softly, "i have an opening at three, who wants it?" evie asks.

"me! sorry," raina says to jane.

"perfect. i'll take you later," evie says dragging raina away to talk about her dress.

"mal! i- hate to keep bugging you but the decorating committee needs more answers. so as much as i hate to, um. you know?" jane rants.

mal nods, "bug me? yeah."

"right."

"jane, i would love to. i just have to get to class," mal replies, attempting to walk away.

jane stops her, "you know what? just nod if you like it!" she begins to list off everything on her tablet and mal nods, overwhelmed.
