Backstory: Growing up with a failed medical experimented, super enhanced criminal as a father can be hard, but not for Joseph. As a child, Joseph was held hostage by a terrorist named the Jackal, who was after his father, Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke. After refusing to give the information the Jackal wanted, Deathstroke went to save his son, but arrived to see the terrorist laid out on the ground, covered in his own blood. A few years after the events of Christmas Eve, Slade was approached by Amanda Waller in Blackgate Penitentiary, given an opportunity for a job. Taking her up on that offer, Deathstroke was given early parole, but requested to see his family. Not long after Scarecrow created his new toxin, Joseph was approached by Harley Quinn, who brought up the idea of taking out Batman. Ultimately refusing, Joseph attempted to steal from the district attorney's office, but was arrested. Hearing the news about the GCPD having brought in each criminal who was on the streets when Scarecrow terrorized Gotham, Joseph knew he couldn't go get his father out, and decided to wait for his opportunity. With the Batman rumored dead, Amanda Waller soon approached Joseph about a secret file called "Task Force X", telling him she'd give him a chance to live his life cell-free, in exchange for killing the Justice League.
