Struggling to Survive in Hell Difficulty

Chapter 38.

(???'s POV)

The situation was rapidly changing and ended up developing in a weird way.

"........."

As a Rogue, Plina was the only one capable of dealing massive physical damage, but she was hesitant to engage the five Boss Monsters lined up in front of her. While she was a lot calmer thanks to Regias creating numerous pools of lava to submerge and instantly kill the group of monsters, it was that same pools of lava that prevented her from utilizing her mobility advantage to maneuver and fight the Boss Monster with her agility.

Not to mention, each of them had enough power to tear the best tank in their Party with a single hit. Considering both she and Regias were both not wearing any equipment that boosted their defense by a fair amount like Anthony, getting caught would mean certain death.

*...rrrrRRKKKKHHH...*.

And whether because they had seen Regias instantly killing all the monsters or something else, the Boss Monsters were slowly moving sideways, separating from each other while also distancing themselves and staying away from the lava.

"............"

"...do you have a plan?"

"I-I'm thinking right now!"

"If you don't have any at the moment, do you want to hear mine?"

Plina tightened her grip on her daggers as she glanced at Regias. "...tell me."

"Considering they are quadrupedal enemies, I planned on binding their legs to stop their movements. Can you kill them all in one go?"

".........I don't know if I can hit their weak points, but I'm certain I can make them go blind if you leave their eyes alone." Plina tried to recall the characteristics of Buratya. "...they would go berserk when they are blinded, so we should be able to either push them into your burning lava or to strike their squishy undersides."

"...their undersides, huh. In that case, please excuse me."

All of a sudden, Regias grabbed Plina's slender waist and pulled her close to him. She became flustered by the action, but that was soon replaced by shock when Regias suddenly jumped upwards, away from the ground and the monsters beneath them.

"W-W-W-WHAT ARE YOU-"

"Now should be fine. [Dig]"

Still ascending in the air, Regias cast an elementary spell as he extended his free left hand towards the ground. 

In the next moment, the remaining ground that the two of them and the five Boss Monsters instantly disappeared. The sudden vanishing of the earth was completely unexpected for both Plina and the Monsters, seeing they could only frantically move their legs as they slowly but surely fell down into the hole.

And while it was merely surprising, Plina knew the fall damage would not be enough to kill the Monsters and was about to say that to Regias... but she did not manage to do that as she saw what was happening next.

"...the lava... is flowing out-!?"

The ground served as a makeshift bowl for the fiery lava. But with its disappearance due to Regias' [Dig], the lava slowly but surely began to flow, dripping down like honey as it headed towards the bottom of the impromptu hole and the fallen Boss Monsters. 

Considering the speed of the flowing lava, it would only take a few seconds before the lava touched and incinerated the legs of the Buratyas

Realizing the incoming threat, they tried to dig the wall and the ground away from the flowing lava... but their efforts were in vain as the lava ended up reaching them first.
