Bad Dream

(Kazuha x reader)

Kazuha woke up suddenly cold, and still not being fully awake- it took him a second to realise why. Then he noticed the empty space besides him that was originally filled with your form. He whimpered briefly at the realisation before removing himself from his covers to search for you.

You had invited him to stay in your teapot for a bit, so of course he accepted,, he could never say no to you. Stepping outside the bedroom, he stumbled down the hallway, still not yet being fully awake, and into the dimly lit main sitting area. Kazuha rubbed his eyes then looked around for a second before moving on to look in another room. You had told him that he was the only one staying in the Sereniteapot for the time being, so Kazuha could look freely amongst the rooms.

After finding no signs of you and searching what he thought was the whole house, Kazuha remembered one more option. Turning the cold handle of the front door, he stepped out into the mildly chilly nighttime air that hit him, making him shiver involuntarily.

Attempting to scan round with only the full moon's light to illuminate the overgrown Liyue-ean styled garden, Kazuha finally spotted your familiar shape sitting beneath a big oak watching the stars. A sigh of relief escaped from his lips once he found you, fearing that you'd left him,,

Despite searching for you for about 15 minutes meaning that he should be more awake- Kazuha in fact, still felt half asleep. Walking up to you, he let himself fall onto you once he was in range, then continued to get comfy- snuggling into you, wrapping his arms loosely round your side and letting his head rest into the crook of your neck. Kazuha contently breathed in your warm scent while you just had to accept your fate.

"I thought you had left me.." Kazuha spoke softly, his sleepy voice soothing you.

"I had a bad dream-"

"Why-" he interrupted.

"And I didn't want to wake you," you finished, unattaching his arms from your side so that one hand could find its way into his, you loved the way they fit perfectly into each other,
"You were sleeping so soundly.. I didn't want to be a burden.."

Kazuha kissed your neck softly where his head lay, "Oh my Love, you could never be a burden to me."

"I know.. but that still doesn't stop me from thinking about it..." You trailed off.

"Shhhh, shhhh," Kazuha comforted, his words reaching right down into your soul and suffocating that darkness forming inside you, "it's ok,, I will always have time for you." He kissed you in the same spot as before, with that same feather-lightness that made your insides tingle.

Then bringing his free hand up, Kazuha gently caressed it against your cheek, continuing to soothe you. A yawn was released from his lips, his warm breath going against your neck and making almost all of your bad feelings just melt away. You could sense that Kazuha was starting to slip back into sleep,

"Let's go back to bed, it's cold out here," his voice grew drowsy.

"Not yet, I want to stay out for a little longer- and I can keep you warm,,"

"Mhh" Kazuha then let you take his full weight, trusting you to hold it and not let him fall.

"The moon is beautiful tonight,, the way it's light shines onto your skin making it glow softly,, so pretty,,"

Then Kazuha finally let sleep take him once more.

The pair lay there, his hand loosely holding onto yours, his breaths tingling your neck, his soft fluffy hair just sitting there so innocently as you resisted the temptation to play with it, his.. being perfectly fitting next to yours as if he were your soulmate.

"Indeed it is,," You spoke softly, then turning your head slightly, you bent down to kiss his forehead before turning back to watch the stars once more.

his being against yours, fitting together perfectly, as if you were soulmates.
