ship: shoto todoroki + eijiro kirishima.

Shoto Todoroki had always excelled in many areas—academics, combat, and even hero work. However, when it came to domestic tasks, particularly cooking, he was far from competent. Still, he wanted to do something special for Eijiro Kirishima, his boyfriend, and what better way than to cook a romantic dinner?

The evening started with Todoroki poring over a recipe book, determined to make a perfect meal. He had meticulously chosen a dish that seemed simple enough—pasta with a homemade sauce and garlic bread. To add a romantic touch, he decided to set the mood with candles.

As the cooking process began, Todoroki realized that things were more complicated than they seemed. The sauce bubbled too vigorously, the pasta seemed to cook unevenly, and the garlic bread threatened to burn. Still, he persisted, determined to create a memorable evening for Kirishima.

When everything was finally cooked—albeit not perfectly—Todoroki moved on to setting the table. He placed candles everywhere, on the table, the counter, and even on the windowsills. He thought the flickering light would create a cosy, romantic atmosphere. He didn't anticipate that one of the candles, precariously balanced on the edge of the counter, would be a disaster waiting to happen.

Kirishima arrived right on time, his usual bright smile lighting up the room as he entered their shared apartment. The first thing he noticed was the warm, albeit slightly smoky, scent of the meal Todoroki had prepared.

"Hey, Shoto, I'm home!" Kirishima called out, stepping into the kitchen. "Something smells... interesting."

Todoroki turned, a hint of nervousness in his usually calm eyes. "Welcome home, Kiri. I made dinner."

Kirishima's eyes widened in surprise and delight. "You did? That's awesome!"

Todoroki managed a small smile, his heart racing. "I thought a few candles would be very romantic."

Just as he said that, one of the candles teetered on the edge of the counter. In slow motion, both Todoroki and Kirishima watched as it fell, landing on a dish towel. The towel ignited instantly, the flames licking upward.

"Shit!" Kirishima exclaimed, rushing to grab the burning towel. Todoroki, acting quickly, used his ice quirk to douse the flames, covering the counter in a layer of frost.

Kirishima looked at the now-charred towel and then at Todoroki, who was clearly distressed. "You could've almost burnt down the house."

Todoroki's shoulders slumped, and he let out a frustrated sigh. "I'm sorry, Eijiro. I just wanted to do something special for you."

Kirishima walked over to Todoroki, gently placing a hand on his cheek. "Hey, it's okay. You tried, and that means a lot to me. Plus, you look really cute when you're flustered."

Todoroki blinked, taken aback by the compliment. "Cute?"

"Yeah," Kirishima said with a grin. "Cute. Now, let's see what you made. I'm sure it's great."

They sat down at the table, the remaining candles casting a warm glow. The meal, though not perfect, was made with care, and that made all the difference. Kirishima took a bite of the pasta, his eyes lighting up.

"This is actually really good, Shoto," Kirishima said, his voice full of genuine appreciation.

Todoroki relaxed, a small smile playing on his lips. "I'm glad you like it."

As they ate, the earlier mishap was quickly forgotten, replaced by laughter and conversation. They talked about their day, their training, and their future plans. The candles flickered, casting a soft, romantic light over them.

After dinner, they moved to the living room, sitting close together on the couch. Kirishima leaned his head on Todoroki's shoulder, sighing contentedly.

"You know," Kirishima said softly, "This turned out to be a perfect evening. Thank you for doing this."

Todoroki wrapped an arm around Kirishima, pulling him closer. "I'm glad. I just wanted to make you happy."

Kirishima lifted his head, his eyes meeting Todoroki's. "You always make me happy, Shoto. Just being with you is enough."

Todoroki's heart swelled with affection. He leaned in, capturing Kirishima's lips in a gentle, tender kiss. The warmth of their connection, the feeling of being loved and appreciated, made everything worthwhile.

And as they sat there, wrapped in each other's embrace, Todoroki realized that it wasn't the candles or the food that made the evening special. It was the love they shared, a love that would continue to grow and strengthen, no matter what challenges they faced.

The night ended with them lying together, their hands intertwined, hearts beating in unison. And Todoroki knew that he would try a hundred times over to create special moments for Kirishima, because seeing him smile was worth everything.
