Prologue 🌹

Ember stared at the mirror in front of her, she had just woken up from her sleep, and she looked very pale, she couldn't even think straight. just then her elder cousin sister, Lucinda, knocked gently on the door and opened the door softly

. "oh, i see you're awake", said Lucinda. "ma said to tell you that you should get ready, because we are going shopping for the party and we need to buy presents for Kevin, after all, it's his birthday".added Lucinda. "now get ready before ma comes in herself and scolds you, alright?". Lucinda concluded while closing the door behind her.

"alright, thank you", Ember said while heading for her bathroom, she yawned as she opened the door and closed it behind her. Meanwhile Lucinda was there preparing breakfast and setting them, while Mrs lily (ember's mom) was making a call with her best friend Mrs rose in her room.

They were talking about how long they haven't seen each other and now Mrs rose was coming in two days to prepare for the party. They talked about how their children have grown and how they were catching up with their studies. While they talked on and on about other things, Lucinda in the dinning hall had finished setting breakfast. She sat on a nearby sofa at one end of the room for some time, then decided to rehearse the song that she was going to sing at the party. She stood up, cleared her throat, and started singing in her sweet tone.

The sound of Ember's clapping hands distracted Lucinda."that was fantastic, amazing, spectacular, and fabulous, I'm sorry i distracted you from finishing the song, but I couldn't help but clap. It was wonderful", Ember complimented. " Thank you Ember, that's so sweet of you, now settle down and wait for me to call ma before we start eating all together, and by the way you look amazing". Lucinda complimented. Ember was wearing a sky blue long sleeved dress with her hair packed in a ponytail, and a bracelet that matches her hair band.

" I was hoping you would say so...", but before Ember could say another word, Mrs lily entered the dinning hall." oh ma, you're here, I was actually going to call you down for breakfast, but since you're here, let's start eating". Ember greeted her mom, and they all sat down at the dinning table, said their prayer and dug into their breakfast of pancakes, loaded chicken sandwich and curry soup with tea for the girls and coffee for Mrs lily.
