Newbie Quests.
As the name implied, it was a bunch of Quests geared towards Newbies who just played the game. It would be handed to them as long as they fulfilled certain criteria (such as their Class and status), and finishing them would grant the newbies items, starting money, materials, or even skills and spells that could help them early in the game or even much later in the future.
It was a staple commodity for RPG games that employed a Quest system and its derivatives.
Thanks to Muriel's guidance, I managed to find a few NPCs who handed the newbie Quests that fit my Class. However, they were... quite unique in their way of handing their Quests to me.
Normally, a newbie Adventurer who just came to Proteus would be greeted like this:
"Good morning, Adventurer! Your efforts are truly appreciated. If you do not mind, there are several things I would like your help with..."
...but the same person when he was talking to me, his attitude was like...
"...you don't look new. Are you sure you even want to help me with my problems?"
I thought it only happened once or twice, but all the NPCs that I met ended up acting that way to me. It was to the point Muriel herself looked shocked by this surprising response.
"...what have you done in here?"
"Absolutely nothing! When I came here, I immediately went to do the Class Selection Quest!"
"......strange..."
And aside from their unexpected responses to me, these Newbie Quests were truly... for newbies.
[Newbie Quest: Delivering A Lunchbox]
[The mother of three, Arya, forgot to prepare a lunchbox for her husband. Deliver the lunchbox to the working father of three and get your reward from Arya]
[Quest Reward: 10 Gold]
[Newbie Quest: Searching the Lost Child]
[The adventurous child Sandra had not returned since last night. Try to find her somewhere in Proteus and bring her back to Cassandra]
[Quest Reward: 5 Gold]
[Newbie Quest: Purchase A Crate of Fish]
[Olga heard that the wondrous merchant from the Harbour Town Castanas had arrived in Proteus a few days ago. Find his shop and purchase a crate of fish before bringing it to Olga's Diner]
[Quest Reward: 5 Gold]
It was kind of obvious, but the purpose for these Quests were to utilize the game's system through live practice. And in this particular case, the function of 'Quest Tracker' either through AI Assistants or manually from the Quest window.
The third one seemed to also have the purpose of teaching how to locate a shop, purchase items, and how to place those purchased items in the inventory, which were equally important for adventuring purposes.
Needless to say, with the assistance of both Muriel's tracking arrows that pointed to either the next Quest giving NPC and the objective necessary for my current Quest, I was able to easily solve most of the Quests within minutes.
And the reason why I said MOST... was because there were still some Quests that I could not solve.
