I thought I had read it wrong, but after rubbing my eyes a bit and re-reading the Quest notification, I realized I did not make a mistake.

The level recommendation was one thing, but what surprised me more was the next lines after that.

[Unique Quest: The Townspeople's Disappearance]

[Quest Giver: Kryos, Mayor of Proteus]

[Recommended Level: Level 50]

[Kryos had heard the news about the missing children from the guards. When he dispatched the guards to look for those missing children, he soon noticed that the dispatched guards had also gone missing. This caused unrest amongst the people in Proteus, making them wary of any strong people inside the Town]

[And right now, you are the one being suspected by the mayor and the townspeople]

[Prove your innocence to Kryos]

"...what the heck..."

"I have no idea why you decided to come here voluntarily."

Kryos raised his clenched right fist above his head. That was all he did.

Yet as soon as he did that, several guards suddenly came out from the rooms from both first and second floor, even from outside the house. They all carried their weapons and pointed them at me, as if they were prepared to stab and kill me with their spears.

"...but I will have the benefit of doubt and ask you to prove yourself."

"...prove myself? By surrounding me with animosity and the intention to kill?"

"If I truly had the intention to kill, don't you think I would have my guards kill you instead of standing still like this?"

...I hate to admit it, but he was right.

Just like how I could see the Level and name of Kryos, I could also see the title and the name of each guard present in this room. And even though they were not stronger than him, they were all ranging from level 40 to 50, which meant they were at least more than twice my current level.

I might be able to fight against a few of them, but I was not sure if I could easily handle everyone here including the mayor himself.

"...can you tell me why you wanted to kill me?"

"...Sandra has been missing all night."

"...Sandra... are you talking about the daughter of Cassandra?"

It was a fairly recent Quest that I just completed, so it was still stuck on my mind.

The girl who looked like she was below 10 had climbed up the tree for some reason and unable to get down on her own. I managed to find her thanks to Muriel's tracking indicator, and she was already shivering that I ran all the way back to Cassandra and dropped her off.

Although I had already read it from the description, it seemed like she had been missing from last night. And from how cold her body when I first found her, it seemed like she had been staying up there all night long.

"...Cassandra herself told me that you found her."

"...yeah. She asked me to find her daughter in panic, so I just helped her as I went around the town as normal."

"Right. You just found her as you casually strolled around the town. When all the guards had been dispatched all night and could not find her."

"...are you insinuating that I had a hand with the missing young children?"
