Midnight Sun

Chapter 2

I woke up at 8:00- I woke myself up after my alarm didn't go off. I looked down to see what was wrong with it. I think the battery died, so I got new ones out of the cupboard and put them in. I got dressed into a 'Everything's about me!' top and some leggings and walked down stairs, Jake was banned from Esme's kitchen so he was sitting on our sofa, waiting for me.

"Hey Ness!" He said, there was so much comfort in his voice.

"Morning Jake." I said, rubbing my tired eyes.

"Your food has been waiting for you- Bella's warming it up." He told me, I walked to the table to wait for mum to bring my food. I smelt something different, maybe beans on toast? It turns out I was right. I suppose I was getting a bit bored with my usual so they got me this.

"Thanks guys!" I said as I wolfed down my food. I walked out with Jacob and we ran to our tree house and down the ladder.

"Jake... Do you wanna come round my place for a sleepover date?" I asked

"Yeah, I'd love to."

"When do you think grandpa Charlie will come back from his holiday?"

"He said two weeks- in time for your birthday."

"That's tomorrow!" I remembered, I don't like to brag about my birthday- it's selfish,"have you got me a present yet?"

"Yeah- I found the perfect thing." He said

"What is it?"

"I can't tell you, it's a surprise!"

"Okey!" I said, happy he had at least got me a birthday present.

"At our date we shall be watching a movie and we will talk in the night and..." I started

"You have never had a sleepover before, have you?"

"No..." I said, admitting my defeat.

"Well, today will be good wont it?" He said

"The best!"

"Do you wanna start the date sooner?"

"Come on then!" I said. We raced home and we told day about the sleep over- not the date. But Jake wants to tell him soon, I don't know how he will react, that's the worrying thing.

"Jake?" I asked after I got into bed and put 'Marley and me' on.

"Yeah?"

"How will I tell dad?"

"Tell dad what?" Said dad as he walked in

"Oh... Nothing!" I lied

"Fine." He said as he walked out. He went to his room and put his music on, but I knew he was trying to figure out what we wanted to tell him. I'm not even gonna think about it. We watched the film and then went to bed. Dad had given up and gone downstairs.

"Jake, how will we tell dad about us?"

"Well, we can improvise?" He suggested

"Okey..." I sighed. I turned over and fell asleep.

"Ness! Wake up!" Jake said as he shook me to bring me out of my dream.

"Yeah?"

"Happy birthday!" He cried. My birthday! Yay! Grandpa is back!

"Get out while I get changed!" I shouted, jokingly, so he walked out. I got into my white 'I love wolves' top into light purple leggings. I walked out of my room with Jacob standing there saying,

"Love the top!", no surprise! We walked downstairs and everyone wished me a happy birthday. I got 8 presents, one each from mum and dad, Emmett and Rose, Alice and Jasper, Seth and Leah, Emily and Sam, Grandpa Charlie, Grandma Renee and most importantly one from Jacob.
