A few days before the trial, Kanna spoke to Silvienne.

"His Majesty the Emperor would like to somehow lessen His Highness Prince Cassil's sins. Perhaps they will come up with a compromise that reduces my guilt as well."

"Yes, he probably will."

It was quite predictable. Kanna quickly added.

"Please accept that compromise."

"..."

Looking at Sylvienne who kept his mouth shut, Kanna put her hands together pitifully. She said earnestly.

"I don't want to go to jail. Help me."

Sylvien watched the scene for a moment as if appreciating it. He had never seen Kanna in such a sad mood recently.

"It was only known that Doctor Isaac attempted to kill me at the instigation of His Highness Prince Cassil. In fact, I only know of a few people who tried to poison the crew."

Only Kanna, Isaac, Alessandro, and a few direct knights. No one other than them knew because Alessandro personally took action and strictly controlled entry.

"Hide this, then come up with a compromise."

"..."

"Then, please file a new charge and only aggravate His Highness's crimes."

Sylvien stared at Kanna. Then he raised the corners of his mouth.

"Miss Kanna."

"Yes?"

"Why should I do that? I can easily charge His Highness the Prince with a serious crime without having to resort to such measures."

Okay. Isn't that why he is asking this because he knows?

"What is more, it is Kanna Artichoke who personally brought me to the court."

"..."

As expected, he knew.

"I was surprised. I didn't know that Miss Kanna would stab me in the back."

Sylvien smiled sweeter than ever. He had a smile that seemed to take her heart out. It was a long time ago that he became aware of Kanna's behind-the-scenes work. The day he sent the letter to the Empress. A day when he censored her letters and was somewhat bored by the expected content.

For some reason, he felt uncomfortable the whole time, as if he had put together the wrong puzzle piece.

'Making the medicine doesn't seem to be easy.'

He could never forget one sentence in the letter. So he made an assumption.

The moment he imagines that the letter was not written by Kanna, whom he knew, but by someone else he did not know.

The answer came very easily. That night, laughter suddenly burst out. Jee felt like he had been hit hard.

"The Miss Kanna I knew would never have done this."

"..."

"I guess I got the wrong person."

Kanna lowered her head and looked at her feet. It's something she couldn't have done even if she had died. And that Sylvien saved her life.

So she was sorry.

Actually, she wasn't sorry.

Kanna raised her head. She lowered her neatly gathered hands. She no longer looked desperate. She did not let out a mournful voice. Then she laughed. She couldn't help but laugh.
