Aurora's pov

The sun was streaming through the window, as I awoke from a deep slumber. I stretched my body lazily, a loud yawn escaped my lips.
I'm not sure how long it's been since I had a decent and peaceful sleep.

"Goodmorning luna" Doctor Williams greeted as she strode into my hospital room.
My forehead creased hearing the doctor call me luna.

I wasn't their luna nor did their alpha acknowledge me as his mate. As far as I know Roman despises me.
I was now confused why she called me her luna.

Doctor Williams stood near the bed and began examining me.
"You're wounds have completely healed and you seem to be doing fine. I've also ran some tests and they all seem to be clear. You're free to go home luna" She smiled.

Well isn't that wonderful but we're exactly do I go? There was never such a thing as a place I called home because I never actually had a home.

Thanks doctor. I muttered giving her a half-hearted smile.
You're welcome. Anyway I hope to see you soon. Take care luna. She smiled giving my shoulder a gentle squeeze.

As soon as the doctor stepped out of the room Hailey entered with a huge grin plastered on her lips.

Aurora! She shouted excitedly, rushing towards me.
What are you doing here? I asked.
Hailey smiled. I'm here to take you home.

I raised a brow. Home? I questioned.

"Yes, the alpha's mansion. That's were you're going to be staying from now onwards"

Wow great! I snickered. Now I'll have no other choice than to live under the same roof as that brute!

"He's not that bad. I know he gets a little cranky but alpha Roman is nothing like Ryan"

He's just the same as my father though. I thought.

"Anyway let's get going we have a lot to do!"
What do you mean a lot to do? Will I be working for Roman now?

Hailey chuckled. "No silly. You're his mate. Alpha Roman is currently addressing the pack, letting them know that tomorrow's the Luna Ceremony"

My eyes went wide, my heart began to pound. Fear pulsed through me.
No, this isn't happening. I can't be his luna.

Aurora! Hailey shook my body,  pulling me out of my reverie.
Hailey frowned. Why do I get the feeling you're not to thrilled about this?

Of course I'm not! Who wants to be bound to such an arrogant, sadistic brute! He's no better than my evil father, I will never accept this stupid mate bond, not now not ever! I thought to myself.

The large iron gates to the mansion creaked open, inviting us onto the gravel driveway.
The mansion stood tall admist the sprawling estate, an architectural masterpiece with towering columns and a grand entrance.

Hailey quickly stepped out and opened the car door with a courteous smile. "Welcome home luna!" she grinned.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. This will never be my home.
I gave her a tight lipped smile.

I reluctantly followed Hailey into the mansion. The entrance hall stretched out before me, adorned with marble flooring and a massive chandelier that glittered with a hundred crystal drops.

Hailey was beside me as we threaded deeper into the mansion.
I can't believe you're going to be our luna! Hailey excitedly squeeled besides me.

Why do you find it so hard to believe? I questioned rolling my eyes.
Hailey's demeanor suddenly switched.
She frowned. "You're not our first luna!"
My brows puckered. What do you mean?

Hailey sighed, grabbing my arm and walking up the stairs.
The alpha was mated once before. She informed.
I see and where is she then? I probed.
She's dead! Hailey whispered as we strode up the stairs.
Dead? How did she die?
The alpha killed her!

Terror coursed through my veins. Was Roman going to do the same with me?
Why did he kill her?
It's a long story for another time. I need to get you settled in, the alpha will be here any moment from now.

We soon stopped at a large wooden door. Hailey stepped forward, fumbling her pocket and pulled out a set of keys.
She unlocked the door and pushed the door wide open, motioning for me to enter first.

My eyes darted around the massive room. The room was lit softly by candlelight and a fire in the fireplace. Shadows danced on the walls, but even in this dim light I could see the room was as opulent as the rest of the house.

It surely did look luxurious but I wasn't interested in the grandeur of the house. All I was thinking about is how am I going to escape this place.

"Do you like it?" Hailey's raspy voice brought me out of my reverie.
I gave her a weak smile. "Yes, I do like it very much"

Well then I better go and in the meantime you can take a hot bath whilst I find something for you to wear.
I nodded. Thanks Hailey.
She smiled closing the door behind her.

I stepped into the bathroom, stripping down from the dress which was given to me by one of the nurses at the hospital.
A tired sigh left my lips as I submerged into the lavender scented water.

The water was perfect, warm and soothing.
I grabbed the loofah and began washing away the dirt and grim from my skin.
When the water began to grow cold, I took the towel from the hook nearby and wrapped it around my body.

Emerging from the bathroom I felt rejuvenated.  I slipped into the grey sweatpants and white t-shirt which Hailey had left for me to use.

After changing I got straight into bed and under the covers. Within seconds I fell into a deep slumber.
