After a long and exhausting jog, I decided to go to this coffee shop that just re-opened. What was I even doing?I giggled as I opened the coffee shop door then immediately I was welcomed by a young beautiful lady.
"Hey, coffee please" I pulled a chair on the table that was next to me then sat. I took out my phone from the pocket of my sweater then checked out my messages...I wondered about what I was going to do on my leave, maybe I could go on vacation with my friend. Few minutes later the waitress brought my coffee.
"Doughnuts on the house"
"Ohh, thank you so so much! I love doughnuts" I took a bite, I can still remember the taste of that doughnuts, it was the best I ever had.
"Tell me if there's anything else you need."
"May I please join you?" I turned to my right and it was Chris! Though he was on wheels,he was the best picture I've ever seen.
"Chris! Umm... of course you can join me."
I stood up and removed the chair that was on my table then tired to assist him but he insisted that he could do it on his own of which he did manage.
"Doctor Simela"
"Chris, wow... it's been three months right?"
"It's four actually. I couldn't help it but come see you when I recognized you."He smiled at me.
"Well, it's been a while and I can see you are getting there. How have you been?"
"I'm okay, I even got back to work but I'm working at home. Disability is one hell of a thing."
" Fortune enough, I made this friend last week on some doctors gathering, she helps to train you know..."
"Disabled? You can say it Doctor "
"Come on, yeah...she helps to make people who can't walk. She says it takes time but you have to trust the process." Then I recalled that I left her business card at my place so Chris and I exchanged numbers for I promised to give him Doctor Mboyeni 's number. Chris and I had a lot to talk about, mostly about her sister and nothing much about my boring life. He got a call soon after I finished my coffee then had to go. I watched him leave and just do everything on his own as if it was all easy. I watched him until he got to his car where there were two muscular men who opened the door and carried him from the Wheel chair in a blink of an eye, he was sitting in the car then they closed the door. I stared at the guards as they got into the front sits of the car and drove off.
