Yibo has always been a dedicated member of the special secret unit. His team was always sent to places that no one even knew existed. The missions were always classified.

On his team, he was the only alpha surrounded by betas. It was a team of 8 capable guys, all with their own set of skills to get shit done. They had been a team for 4 years and never had a failed mission. But recently, they were told of the new "no rescue protocol."  They knew that if anything went wrong with any one of them, they would have to leave that member behind. There was no rescue protocol, so on each mission, they all took extra care of each other's well-being.

On this specific mission, they were called out to go to an island to rescue kidnapped omegas that were being used in a reproductive project.

The government had been surveilling the group for months now, and they finally got enough Intel to send in the secret unit to rescue the omegas.

Yibo understood how grave the situation was and why it's important to get all  the omegas out of the situation they were in. Omega breeding projects were long deemed a crime because they involved forced imprisonment and drugs.

Alphas could have babies with anyone, but the same couldn't be said about omegas. They could only carry seeds from only Alphas because most of them were males. Strong Alphas were always on demand for breeding with omegas because the chances are the child born between the two would either be an alpha or an omega. Either one could be sold for a lot because of how few there were in existence. This was the reason why the secret force was founded.

Betas only gave birth to betas. Even when mixed with an alpha or omega, the results were the same. So betas were not only common but a safe race.

Only Yibo's boss knew that Yibo was an alpha. Yibo's parents were part of the minority that were both betas and gave birth to an alpha. Because of this, they were able to change his secondary gender to beta without raising any eyebrows. No one ever questioned his gender throughout all his childhood.

He didn't wonder about his secondary gender either. All he knew was that he had a weak immune system and had to take pills daily to avoid getting sick. And he did this religiously morning and night daily.

His boss was different because he had trained a lot of young men throughout his career, and Yibo's abilities out matched any beta. So he discreetly tested Yibo, and this confirmed his suspension. Yibo was not only an Alpha. He was a dominant Alpha.

Even though he knew the truth, he never shared his information, but he did use it to his advantage. He made Yibo the leader of the special unit. They were known as the ghosts because no one saw them coming or leaving. They were paid handsomely and so was the boss.

This mission was meant to be pretty straightforward compared to the ones they had completed in the past. Go in, kill all the criminals, rescue the omegas, and burn down the warehouse where they were kept. Simple!

Everything was going according to plan until Yibo noticed his body was not cooperating with him as usual. He couldn't adjust to the weather, and he felt sluggish. As the day progressed, he felt worse and worse.

He started wondering if this was because the day before, he forgot to pack his meds and figured he hadn't been sick for as long as he could remember, so surely everything will be fine... right?"

Wrong.

What Yibo didn't know was that he was showing symptoms of a rut, and being surrounded by so many omegas at once was the worst thing that could happen to him.

They finally got everyone out of the building, and we're headed towards the planes to get everyone back safely.

One of the older omega pulled him aside.
