So High School

3 am

Taylor awoke with a start, a melody swirling through her head. She sat up, humming quietly under her breath. Careful not to wake Travis beside her, she reached for her phone on the bedside table. She opened the voice memos app and repeated her little tune, stopping the recording and switching over to her notes app.

"Taylor?" Travis's tired voice came from next to her.
"Sorry, you go back to sleep" Taylor apologised, climbing out of bed and leaving the room, her feet pattering against the floorboards. Travis was too tired to argue, and instead just turned over and fell asleep again.

Taylor made her way into her music room, closing the door behind her. She sat down at the piano and started playing around with the keys, humming in content when she found a melody she liked.

"The scandal, was..." She sang quietly, making up the lyrics as she went along. She went back to change a couple, but other than that she thought it was pretty good for a first draft.
"Is it a wonder I... Is it a wonder I..." She sighed, annoyed, until the word she was looking for came to her. "Is it a wonder I broke, give me..." She thought for a second, singing through the song again in her head. "Show me... Tell me..." However, she couldn't find the right words, and it was starting to annoy her. She moved on to a different part of the song, recording bits on her phone. Before she knew it, two hours had past and the morning sun was shining through the curtains. She sat with her head down on the piano, almost fast asleep whilst the clock on her phone blinked 5 am.

Meanwhile, Travis had woken needing to pee. Desperately. He leapt out of bed and practically ran into the bathroom, quickly relieving himself. As he came out, he noticed the bed was empty. He hasn't noticed before, probably because he was in a rush to get to the toilet. He knew that she was probably in her music room, so he decided to go and see. It had been over two hours since he awoke last and if Taylor had been awake all that time, she must be exhausted.

He walked town the corridor to her music room and opened the door a crack. There Taylor was, in her oversized tshirt. She was sitting at the piano with her phone open next to her and different pieces of paper strewn across the flat wooden top of the piano. her head was down, and from what Travis could see, it looked like she was fast asleep.

Travis smiled fondly, making his way over to her. He gave her a kiss on the forehead, causing her to stir.
"Come on baby" he whispered as Taylor raised her head. Her watery blue eyes squinted up at him, still sensitive to the light.
"Its 5am, you should be in bed" Travis chuckled softly. Taylor mumbled something which Travis couldn't quite make out, burying her head into his chest. Travis helped her stand, and together the pair stumbled into the bedroom.

By now Taylor was wide awake, and as she sat down on the bed she looked up at Travis, her eyes wide.
"Sorry if I woke you" she mumbled, making Travis melt at her cuteness.
"No, you didn't, don't worry!" Travis leant foward, kissing her on the nose. Taylor scrunched her nose adorably, giggling.
"Lets hear what you were doing then?" Travis asked her, gazing at her with so much love in his eyes.
"' Lets hear'! That's it!" Taylor exclaimed, her crystal blue eyes lighting up in excitement. She reached for her phone, typing something into it.
"Okay Taylor, time for bed now" Travis mock- warned, smiling.
"Okayyy" Taylor locked her phone and set it aside, laying down on the bed. Travis lay down too, pulling his girl into his arms.

The pair were out like a light, tangled up with each other, ready for what the next day had to bring them.
