Five billion years ago
I blinked awake as I felt my being come into existence, it felt strange as my soul slowly formed. Feeling you being come into existence was odd and... numb. I didn't have a body but it was strange as the air was cold. I could sense that my creator had made several more of my... people? Status? Kind? It didn't matter, I know that we would all be named and given Stange bodies. I know my name. I slowly opened my eyes?
I still lacked a body but held a form. I was blue... little else as my form twisted, collapsed and rebuilt itself. It was soft and shifted. I was in the cradle of the world, a gray mountain top. Despite my innate reverence for this holy site... it was very gray and ugly. Blues and a sandy yellow would be beautiful.
I then shifted to looking at my creator. They had a white and golden body flecked with green, their red and green eyes looked over myself and the others. A green one that swirled like wind and was made of smoke a pair of yellow eyes peered out was to my left, I was the right most nearly over a cliff. The original one spoke.
"Children... the ten of you are the second generation of legends to grace this newborn world. Already things are tense as thine youngest hath already betrayed thine. Any of thou whomst wish to betray thy shall parish at thin own will. However all art innocent as of now. Thou all shall choose thou domains to rule."
I nodded wondering what I would rule. What would my home be? The original one was clearly cautious which made me cautious. What could harm him? I shifted and the rock crumbled beneath me. Fuck!
I shrieked tumbling down the rocks. The other legends and the original one watched as I fell. The stones were cold and painful as I fell. My body felt blazing hot against the cold cold stone. If I could cry I'd be sobbing as it hurt. It hurt so much. Finally I fell into something.
It was cold but pleasantly so being warmed by the sun. I floated in... the water. That's what it's called. It's beautiful. I opened my eyes, I was face down and simply watched the infractions of the light reflecting through the water. I relaxed as it soothed my tattered form and I slowly healed accepting the water as it flowed through me. I could feel it despite my lack of body. Immediately I fell in love with it.
"Young Kyogre are you okay?"
I looked up at the creator before I spoke for the first time.
"How much water is there?"
"Entire oceans young one." My eyes must have glittered as the creator chuckled after he answered. Something clicked into place and it felt right. The water was mine! And I fell in love with every droplet as my domain became the water. And it gifted me a body to use. I loved it, built for the water. I let out a happy rumble, it was musical. The original one laughed.
"You are the first one to choose yet I am certain you will never regret it. You are as much the ocean's domain as it is yours."Three point five billion years ago
I hummed as I watched some primordial soup shift. Tiny organisms danced in the sandy sunlit muck. It was beautiful, no wonder Xerneas chose life as their domain. Not comparable to water but not everyone could have such an excellent domain. I had first noticed it a few days ago when Xerneas was asking about the life as their deer form was unfortunately poor at swimming. I slowly drifted for a couple hours. The life was in the shallows so I might be able to try to help Xerneas see it. I wasn't sure how their efforts to bring some life onto the surface.
I blinked as I felt something rumble. It was on the land. I turned around to ignore it but it continued to grow louder. Someone probably wants me, someone who isn't Xerneas or Rayquaza. I peaked above the water and who spat in Groudon's food? He looked pissed. I swam over blinking before he spoke.
"Why did I hear that life is starting in your domain? The concepts Mew showed us showed us the land was thriving!" Groudon loudly complained. "Yet so was the ocean." I countered before continuing. "The primordial soup is the ocean and Xerneas is already trying to get life on land and it's mostly single cell things."600 Million years ago
What the... I blinked. I happened again! Why is the ocean shrinking? It's just little bits maybe a hundred gallons at most, but we were not entering an ice age. And again! I quickly swam up to the surface. The original one hadn't informed me of anything about the ocean.
"Groudon what the hell!" Groudon looked at me smiling, the ocean was pushed back by his steps. The water evaporated so completely it'd never rain back down to the earth replacing what was lost.
"Well sense the ocean has already done its job why not push it back? It covers so much, like what seventy five percent?"
"Seventy one percent and I'd say the ocean has plenty of work left to do." I responded trying not to sound too high and mighty. Groundon doesn't respond too well to that.
"Such as?" Groundon responded sounding haughty.
"Producing a significant portion of the earths oxygen supply with photo plankton." Groundon growled, he'd of been red with fury if he wasn't already red. He slashed at the ocean, steam rising up and dissipating as quickly as it came.
"Well I still say we don't need seventy one percent, besides a volcano would look much better here than your water. I represent the land and I say instead of twenty nine percent I should have let's see... all of it!" Groundon laughed and I saw black. Not the fury of red, but black of hatred. But I needed to remain calm if the man child was to learn. I shook my head focusing on the water around me. It was calm it was serene, it was good. I exhaled before opening my eyes and speaking, my rage hardly contained.
"Groundon, you shouldn't be using your abilities like this. The original one set this as how much land and how much water the world has. We are simply here to let it ebb and flow like the tides. Letting volcanic eruptions expand the land then be worn away with the water-" "And what? Wear away all the land leaving me with nothing! I'm already at a disadvantage you fat whale!" Groundon barked interrupting me claws slashing at the water destroying it with every word. He really is a damn man child.
"Groundon talk to the creator if you're not happy about this arrangement but please don't evaporate any more of my ocean I have to replace it."
Groundon growled before he lunged forward. I jolted back before defending myself with a water pulse. As water met Groundon's body he shrieked. Rayquaza finally noticed and flew down. He watched as the red meat head fled. He looked down at me as I began to release water from my form. It seaped out as if I was wrung out like a sponge. Rayquaza looked between me and where Groundon was.
"Something tells me this will be a reoccurring problem." I nodded. "It has been for quite awhile now." I responded curtly.
