It was just another Saturday morning when bluey rung Mackenzie to ask him to hang out this arvo.

"Hey Mackenzie, I was wondering if you wanted to meet up this arvo? I was thinking we could head to the park, you know, to feed the ducks and what not?"

"Yeah why not, blues? I don't have any other plans, so Im down to chill at the park."

After ringing him, bluey sighed and leaned into the back of the sofa. The truth was the fact that she wasn't making plans just to spend quality time with him, but to finally confess her true feelings because little did Mackenzie know, bluey didn't just like him as mate. She'd spent weeks building up the courage with the help of her friends and bingo to push her. She hoped she wouldn't chicken out last second...

Bluey got up off the sofa and made her way to her room. It was already late in the morning, so she got ready a bit ahead of time. Though she was only going to the park, she wanted to look decent for Mackenzie by putting on some light makeup.
"Ugh! Bingo, did you take my favorite mascara again?" Bluey hollered, hoping bingo would hear her.
"Yeah, sorry!-" bingo rushed to blueys room with her mascara.
"Sorry, bluey. I forgot to return it. What's the special occasion anyways?" Bingo asked curiously.
"It's okay, bingo. Well, the special Occassion-"
Bluey paused for a brief moment, applying mascara.
"Well, I decided today's the day that i... try to tell Mackenzie how I really feel. We're meeting up at the park a bit later. I'm really scared. I just hope that if he doesn't feel the same, this doesn't negatively affect anything between us." Bluey said in an uneasy tone.
"Wait, really?!" Bingos eyes widened in excitement and surprise. "I'm so happy that you're finally ready!!! I really hope for the best. Wait! Can I help you finish up your makeup?"
Bluey agreed and let bingo do her thing.

Bingo finished up. Bluey smiled at the reflection of herself in her vanity mirror. Just a small touch of bingos work really made all the difference.
"Thank you bingo, you've done a lovely job." Bluey looked at her sister in an appreciative manner.
"You're welcome, bluey!" Bingo smiled at her.
Bluey applied a subtle floral perfume, then checked her phone and realized it's early arvo already. "Oh! I should get going. Let mum and dad know I left, okay?" Bluey rushed out the door and got in her car.

She showed up at the park. She looked around, Mackenzie was no where in sight. She sat on a bench in front of the pond and decided to text him to see if he was there or not.

Right before she pressed send on her text, she hears a voice from behind her.

"Yeah mate, I'm already here!" Mackenzie exclaimed playfully as he placed a paw on her shoulder.

Bluey turned around, immediately making eye contact. "Oh!- Mackenzie!- I thought you weren't here yet."
"Nah, I've been here. Did I startle you?"
Bluey partially slipped up as she replied.
"Ye- i- no- not at all!"
Mackenzie giggled at her response. "Yeah, you were startled! Mission accomplished." He teased.
Bluey rolled her eyes at him playfully. She then patted the empty space next to her, signaling Mackenzie to sit with her. Mackenzie sat close to her. "Alright, I'm ready to feed some ducks if you are?" Mackenzie suggested. "Oh... about that...I just realized that I had forgotten to bring some bread." Bluey looked down in embarrassment.
"Haha, no worries! We can just watch the ducks. Seems as though you may have been too caught up with your makeup to remember?" Mackenzie teased. Bluey blushed because he was in fact very correct. "Yeah, I actually was..."
"Is that so? Well, you look great. Not that you don't already always look great- it's- I just hardly ever see you in makeup. Sorry if I made that sound like an insult." Mackenzie blushed.
"No, no, I get it- thank you, Mackenzie." Bluey smiled at him. "Look, you want to know why I really came here, Mackenzie?"
"What do you mean? You wanted to feed the ducks, didn't you?"

Bluey was nervous. So nervous that she was nauseous. "You've been a great mate of mine all these years. You're one of my favorite mates, but the truth is..." bluey cut herself off for a moment.
Mackenzie kind of realized where this was really going. His own heart was racing, yet he played it cool.

Bluey got up off the bench and stood in front of Mackenzie. She looked down at him, hesitant to say anything more. Mackenzie also got up, bluey took a step back. Mackenzies paws were gripping both of her shoulders softly. "Bluey, it's okay. I know what you're trying to say, and honestly? I can't believe it. Not in a negative way. It's just.. I've been madly in love with you since we were kids. Yeah. I've always dreamed of being with you, but I always believed we would be nothing more than mates. I couldn't ever imagine what a girl like you might see in a guy like me. Even if you tried to explain it, I'd never understand. But it makes me happy to know that you feel something for me too, even if I really am a lame guy." Mackenzie kept his soft gaze in her eyes, along with a warm smile.

"Mackenzie, I... I really do see a lot in you. I've always felt and seen something special in you and I can't even put it into words. All I can really say right now is that I love you and-"

Mackenzie cut her off by pulling her in for a kiss.
