CHAPTER TEN ! chill.

" THANK you so much evie. i greatly appreciate your creativity," raina says grabbing her bag and getting ready to walk out of the blue haired girls dorm.
evie smiles brightly at her, "of course raina. anything for you. i'll see you later for your final fitting?" she asks, earning a nod in response.
"bye evie, thank you," she says walking out the door.
she walks down the hall and knocks on carlos' dorm room. "hold up! just a second!" he yells from inside. she hears murmuring from inside the room before his door opens, "oh hey rain. what's up?" he asks, leaning on the door frame.
"i was gonna see if you wanted to hang out or something but if you're busy i can just sit in my dorm in read," she says, her green eyes wide as she looks up at him.
he nods, "no i'm not busy. i'm doing some homework but you can read in here, i don't- uh i don't mind," he stutters.
she smiles softly, "yeah, okay," she replies. he motions for her to come in and she walks by him. the two lay on his bed, raina on her stomach, and carlos on his back. raina reads at the foot of his bed as carlos types away on the lap top sat on his lap.

" GUYS!" evie yells from outside carlos' dorm, knocking hard. raina and carlos look at eachother in confusion, as carlos stands up and goes to the door.
he opens in, "what's up evie?" he asks.
she opens the door wider and looks around the room, "is jay here? where is he?" she asks, her tone filled with panic.
"woah, e, what's going on?" raina asks, standing up from carlos' bed.
she looks over to the blonde and sighs. she turns to carlos, "mal went back to the isle. and ben wants to go get her," she tells him.
he looks between evie and raina. "we're coming too," carlos says.
raina nods, "yeah, for sure," she adds.
evie sighs, "i don't know raina. maybe it's not the best. i mean, it's not all sunshine over there," she explains.
raina shakes her head, "i don't care. if you guys are going i'm going too. i'm not letting you guys go back there alone."
carlos looks back at raina and then to evie. he shrugs at her, "okay fine. but you're not going in that outfit," she says.

"JAY, keys, remote," ben says tossing him both of these items.
raina and carlos walk side by side, raina's heeled boots clanking off of the pavement. "WAIT!" evie says getting to the bottom of the stairs. raina stops behind evie as she pulls down ben's beanie, and then turns and readjusts raina's crown headband.
"SHOTGUN!" dude yells from the stairs. everyone looks back at the dog in confusion.
carlos looks down at him, "no, dude, stay. the isle is way too dangerous," he explains.
dude wins as jay holds up his hand, "did he just?"
"talk? yeah? i'll explain later," carlos says opening the back door for raina. she smiles at him and climbs into the limo. evie climbs into the passenger seat and gives jay directions on where to park.
jay drives over the bridge that appears from the golden button and the limo goes through the forcefield over the island.
he parks it in front of a large tunnel and the all get out of the car. carlos jogs towards a tarp, "ben, help me with the tarp," he says to the king.
ben nods and follows carlos. the two bring it over to the limo and cover the front half, then going back to grab the second on and cover the back end.
ben wonders to the tunnel and looks inside, "hey, what's in here?" he asks.
jay, carlos, and evie all look to him and roll their eyes, "ben. you don't wanna know," jay says, turning him.
raina stands next to carlos, in her dark purple leather jacket over a light purple ruffled t-shirt, with a matching lilac short skirt, over top of a pair of tights and dark purple heeled boots.
"hey guys. keep it chill, all right? the last thing we need is our parents figuring out we're here," carlos says to the other four. they all nod in response as carlos walks into an enclosed alley.
raina walks directly behind carlos as he leads them through. whistles echo throughout the enclosed area, causing carlos to glare around. raina connects their hands subconsciously, causing carlos' cheeks to warm. "HEY! STOP!" evie exclaims as two children come out from the sides and grab onto her wallet. she sees their sadden faces and softens, "just take it. go on." she turns back to the group and scoffs, "ben and raina."
raina noticed that ben disappeared so she followed him. they end up in an open space with a man. ben smiles at the man and nods. he holds his hand out for him to shake, "hi," ben says. the man growls at the two in response.
the vk's speed walk into the open space, carlos rushing to stand inbetween the man and raina, getting in his face before jay pulls him back. evie pulls ben back as carlos shields raina away from the man. "ben, stop. just stop," evie says.
"why?" he replies.
"this isn't a parade, it's the isle," evie explains.
raina looks around anxiously. carlos notices and reconnects their hands, rubbing his thumb over hers. "keep your hands in your pockets, unless your stealing," jay warns.
"you either slouch, or strut," carlos says looking at the two.
evie holds up her hand, "and never ever smile."
raina nods as ben smiles, "thank you-," they both go to say before getting cut off by evie.
"no! no thank you's, and drop the please too. just, chill."
maddi's manuscript, OKAY! listen. i know i skipped one of the best songs, but honestly i hate writing song scenes! they're so awkward and boring to write. so i'm only writing them if they're important to the story
