TW: Anxiety/ Panic Attack
Author's note: this chapter contains a scene with Y/N having an anxiety attack. So, please if you're triggered then skip it. I'll make sure to mark the beginning and ending of the scene.
Y/N's POV
We spent the rest of the afternoon sprawled on the couches in the warm tent and playing card games.
By dusk darkness spread, the Ministry seemed to have bowed to the inevitable and stopped fighting the signs of magic, now breaking out everywhere.
Salesmen were apparating every few feet, carrying trays and pushing carts full of extraordinary merchandise. It all felt surreal, to be honest. Reading about it in the books and seeing all this with my own eyes were very very different.
"Been saving my pocket money all summer for this." Ron told Harry as me, Harry, Hermione and Ron strolled through the salesmen, buying souvenirs.
Ron purchased a dancing shamrock hat and a large green rosette, he also bought a small figure of Viktor Krum. If only he knew.
The miniature Krum walked back and forth over Ron's hand, scowling at the green rosette above him.
"Wow, look at these!" said Harry, hurrying over to a cart piled high with what looked like brass binoculars. Omniculars, I thought to myself.
"You can reply action . . . slow down everything . . . and they flash up a play-by-play breakdown if you need it." The saleswizard grinned and pushed the omniculars into Harry's hand eagerly, "Bargain— ten galleons each."
"Wish I hadn't bought this now," Ron groaned, gesturing at his dancing shamrock hat and gazed longingly at the Omniculars.
Harry reached into his pocket and pulled out 90 galleons.
"9 pairs." He said, handing the galleons to the saleswizard with a grin. Ron looked like he wanted to protest, but I guess the desire for the souvenir prevented him from stopping Harry.
On another cart, I saw some bracelets with tiny charms hanging from them. I picked one which was emerald green in colour, just like Harry's eyes. There were different charms— a few golden snitch, a wand and a broom and, a lightning bolt which looked peculiarly like Harry's scar. I chuckled at how the bracelet basically looked like a Harry Potter merch. I would've definitely bought it if I was back home.
"You like that?" Harry came behind me, just as I put the bracelet back in the cart. His breath was warm against my cheek and I was reminded of how close in proximity we were.
"It reminded me of you." I smiled sheepishly and shrugged. "But it's expensive."
He picked it up with a curious look, "We'll take it." He grinned at the saleswitch.
"No, Harry. It's fine." I protested, but he just shook his head.
He handed the galleons to the saleswitch who happily pocketed them. "May I?" He asked while holding the bracelet.
I lifted my left hand and he effortlessly clasped the bracelet in my wrist, our fingers brushing slightly, and I felt him gasp inaudibly at the contact. But maybe I just imagined it.
