My bliss

As soon as i enters in the room I drop down on the bed before putting my bag aside  feeling exhausted and worn out because of the trip.

I just want to sleep and wash off this tiredness.but again I can't mom strictly told me to come downstairs after getting freshen up.
Let's go Shashank just obey her if you don't want to face her wrath.

I get up and walk towards the closet to take the towel from it.As i open the closet something fell down, near my feet.
I am too lazy to pick up that thing but as i see that was a photo i instantly bend down to pick it up.
Seeing this a instant smile broke out on my face.

It was her and I in that photo.

Her,MY BLISS,MY Ahira,My instant source of happiness.I caress the photo with my hand.A little girl with the sweetest smile that could light up the whole room standing with a boy.Her eyes are wide and bright,twinkling with innocent curiosity.You can almost hear her giggles and feel the joy radiating from the photo.This photo holds my heart & this girl  holds my soul.

''Shashank''I swiftly hide the photo inside the closet and grab a towel when i hear mom  entering the room.

''What are you doing standing there''mom asked before sitting on the bed.
''nothing I was just going to freshen up''I said before closing the closet and face her showing the towel.

''Sit,i want to talk about something" she pats the space beside her.I moved to sit.

''what is it?''i asked and see her sighing.I clearly have an idea what is it about.

''Shashank you are well aware that you are not a teenager'' well i'm aware of this

''yes mom''i said predicting that i'm going to get earful from her.

''Then why are you acting like one''

''No mom I'm-''

''No you listen, start taking responsibility of your actions Shashank or else you will regret''She said cutting me in the middle.I know she is so angry most importantly disappointed in me for disappearing from the home for more then a week without telling her.
Well I'm also aware that i'm at fault.I should not have gone to the trip without informing her and I have nothing to justify my actions. I sigh and close my eyes.

''I'm sorry mom for making you worried and I swear I will never do this again''I said taking her hand in my own & saw her eyes softening.
''Hmm fine and even if you repeat this i will not let you enter in the home''She said with a smile.I roll my eyes and she hit my head.

''areyy mummy yarr''I whine caressing my head where she hit.

'Drama' I heard her mumble and we both burst into the laughter.

''okay enough now I'm here to talk about something important''I raise my brow at her.What important stuff is she talking about.She looks excited.

''Today is Ahira's haldi and mehndi ceremony and we all are invited''She said with a grin.

My heart thumps hearing the name.I withdraw my hands from her hold.she didn't say Ahira.right?No it can't be

''pardon me?''I asked again because i'm sure it's not her,It's not my Ahira,not my Ahira,she-

''That's why I was calling you a lot but you didn't pick up any of my call and you also missed her engagement''mom said getting up from the bed.
My mind  went completely blank.A wave of disbelief washed over me.How can this be possible. It can't be true.She-she never thought of marring.I know her better than anyone.

''Me & your dad are going early ,so you better get ready and come to Mahavar's Mansion''mom said while going out of the room.I paid no heed to her words.
I felt like i had been jolted by electricity. It's too much.I stand up and throw the towel which i was holding.

'No' I sat on the bed with a thud and gritted my teeth feeling helpless as finally tears made their way out of my eyes.
