“My name's Aiden, and he's Ben, my cousin” Aiden introduced, pointing at Ben, who waved.
Ashlyn was not amused, as she waved back at Ben, before looking at Aiden. She took an inhale, before saying, in the most kindest and polite way possible.
“Can you leave me alone?” She asked, with a hint of annoyance. Yeah, the most ‘kindest’ and ‘polite’ way possible.
The blonde chuckled, in amusement, grinning. “You're a feisty one. I like ya” Ashlyn scoffed, crossing her arms in annoyance.
Just as she was about to say something, the teacher suddenly approached them. “Sorry that I was late! I had an important job to do, sorry there, kids” The teacher apologized.
“Why don't you all go inside, and we can start the first day of school?” The teacher said, and the three teens nodded. They all went inside, and Aiden yelled out “The teacher's here!!”
Everyone instantly ran to their desks, and settled down.
Ashlyn sat down her seat, but to her horror, Aiden sat right behind her. She thought she was hallucinating, until she saw his name taped on the chair. She was indeed not hallucinating.
“Good morning, class!” The teacher happily greeted, and everyone quieted down. They greeted the teacher back, before the teacher wrote his name on the board. He faced the class once he was done writing, and cleared his throat.
“My name is Walter Thomas, but you can call me Mr. Thomas!” Mr. Thomas introduced himself, in a cheery way.
“He looks nice..” Ashlyn heard one of her classmates whisper. “Maybe he'll let us have less tasks” one of them joked.
“Alright, now that I've introduced myself, you're all going to introduce yourselves!” Mr. Thomas exclaimed. Ashlyn mentally slapped herself. She hated introductions. And worst of all, she will be the first to go up. As always.
“Ashlyn Banner, you're up first!” Mr. Thomas called out. Ashlyn felt like jumping out a window, just like what she would be desperate to do every year, or when she really does not want to socialize.
Reluctantly, she stood up, and began walking her way in front of the class. She stood in front, before she spoke. “My name is Ashlyn Banner. I like dogs. And my parents are soldiers.”
Some of the students were interested at the last fact, especially Aiden, who looked at her in amusement. He still had this smile on his face, and Ashlyn felt weirded out.
“That's a pretty interesting fact, Ashlyn” Mr. Thomas commented, before calling out the next person. Ashlyn quickly walked back to her seat, sitting down, and listening to the next one, which was Aiden. This is going be interesting.
“My name's Aiden Clark” Aiden chuckled, smiling brightly.
“I like to climb things, steal stuff, and did I mention that I wanna go outside the colony? Sounds stupid, but hear me out–”
Aiden ended up rambling for 5 minutes, until Mr. Thomas ended his introduction. The blonde kept on switching topics so fast, that everyone was fumbled.
“Okay, and Ben Clark?” The teacher called out. Aiden spoke up, pointing at Ben, who was sleeping. “Thats my cousin, Ben! He's really cool you know tha–”
Aiden, once again, rambles, but it was just a minute. Some other classmates went up, and Ashlyn did not really pay that much attention to anyone. Until the light haired boy was next.
“Fields– I mean, Logan Fields.” Logan fumbled with his words, which made some students snicker. “I like reading Astronomy.. And I'm a gardener” He added.
