Anueng woke up to the scent of freshly brewed coffee and a note on her bedside table. The handwriting was unmistakably Nueng’s, neat and filled with affection.
"Pack a bag, Anueng. Today, we're going on an adventure. Be ready by 10 AM. Love, Nueng."
She blinked at the note, her mind still foggy with sleep. Adventure? She had been feeling swamped with her new job and the relentless pace of city life. The thought of a getaway was tempting. Excitement bubbled up inside her as she quickly dressed, her heart pounding with curiosity.
By 9:45 AM, Anueng was ready, her bag packed with essentials. A soft knock startled her, she opened the door to find Nueng standing there, her eyes twinkling with mischief and excitement.
"Good morning, sleepyhead," Nueng said, her voice warm and full of promise. She handed Anueng a blindfold. "Put this on, and don't peek."
Anueng laughed, feeling a rush of anticipation. "You really know how to keep a secret, don’t you?"
With the blindfold in place, Nueng guided her to the car. The journey was filled with soft music and Nueng’s soothing voice, occasionally punctuated by the sounds of passing scenery. They drove out of the city, the urban sprawl giving way to rolling hills and dense forests.
As they reached a small train station, Nueng guided Anueng onto a charming old train, its carriages decked in vintage decor. Anueng’s heart skipped a beat at the surprise. "Is this part of the plan?"
"Yes," Nueng replied with a grin. "I thought you’d enjoy the journey. Just wait till we get to the cabin."
The train ride was magical. The landscape unfolded like a painting, with lush greenery, sparkling streams, and distant mountains. Nueng handed Anueng little gifts at each stop—chocolates, a tiny compass, a postcard of the mountains, and a note saying, "Adventure awaits, my love."
When they finally reached their destination, the train pulled into a quaint station surrounded by towering pines. Nueng led Anueng through a winding path, the sound of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the breeze. The cabin came into view, nestled among the trees with a stunning backdrop of snow-capped mountains.
"Welcome to our getaway," Nueng said, removing the blindfold. Anueng stood there, breathless, taking in the sight of the cozy cabin with its stone chimney and warm, inviting windows.
"Ar-Nueng, this is beautiful," Anueng whispered, her voice full of awe and gratitude. Nueng smiled and took her hand, leading her inside.
The cabin was a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. A fire crackled in the fireplace, and the smell of wood and pine filled the air. Nueng had set up a small dining table with a delicious homemade dinner—grilled chicken, fresh salad, and a bottle of wine.
"Let’s eat, then we can explore," Nueng said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
After enjoying their hearty breakfast, Anueng and Nueng decided to explore the woods surrounding their cozy cabin. They donned their hiking boots and stepped out into the crisp morning air, the scent of pine and earth invigorating their senses.
The forest was a world away from the bustling streets of Bangkok. Here, time seemed to slow down. The only sounds were the gentle rustling of leaves, the occasional chirping of birds, and the soft crunch of their footsteps on the forest floor. Sunlight filtered through the dense canopy, casting dappled shadows on the path ahead.
