THERESE'S POV

I woke up late. I pulled all-nighter to finish my part in my research and I have to create a presentation for my reporting in our subject Disaster Management. I have no time for breakfast and to style my hair. Thus, I put my long hair into a ponytail and put a lip balm on my lips.

When I arrived at school, I saw Xavier at the gate holding something. I couldn't see it properly as I haven't got my eyeglasses. I'll get my eyes checked on Sunday after my scheduled shopping with Madam Eula.

"Good morning." Bati nito nang makalapit ako. I still have ten minutes before my first class starts.

These past few days, I can't help but notice that he's glowing. The smile he wears every time I see him, he seems different and his eyes seem full of hope. What's happening to him? I mean, it's a good thing, good for him. I guess he deserved to be happy.

"Hey," tipid kong bati.

"Pinapabigay pala ni Lola," inabot nito ang hawak niyang maliit na kulay pink na eco bag. "It's her new recipe and she's so obsess making them recently. Excited nga siya matikman mo 'yan."

I slightly opened the eco bag to have a glimpse inside but instead the aroma from inside lingered my nose. Based on the smell, it's a cinnamon roll. It's one of my favorite pastries! Oh, my goodness. It's an honor to be given a cinnamon roll by Madam Eula.

I heard him chuckling while I was busy smelling the item inside.

"Hindi ka nga nag-almusal. Para kang bata na nakatanggap ng candy." There's a hint of mischievousness in his tone and that made me frown.

"Shut up, Xavier." I rolled my eyes. "It's still early in the morning."

"Okay," then he shrugged. "Kiddo."

I opened my mouth to blurt out my annoyance but no words came out. Tinalikuran ko na siya at nagsimula nang maglakad. I'll eat the cinnamon roll after my first class. I'm so excited to eat it!

"How's your personal project going on?"

So, he decided to accompany me, huh.

"Fine but the progress is slow since school started." I stated.

The amount of time I spent creating it is minimal as school started. I have a private tutor that I need to attend which consumes my remaining time in the evening. I sighed heavily. There's an entrance exam that I have to take this coming August. It's an international university that my Mom chose. She's determined for me to take a pre-medical program in college.

It's all draining; from school and private tutoring. I feel like the workload is weighing me down and preventing me from walking peacefully, and enjoying the scenery. The only breather I have is making the gown. Whenever I'm doing it, everything falls silent, even the deepest corner of my thoughts.

"Kumakain pa ba? If makita ka ni Lola nang ganiya, she'll get worried."

I was shocked when he pulled the corner sleeve of my uniform; now my arm is in the air. I hate it when someone touches me without my consent, even the fabric I'm wearing.

I groaned, "Get off your hands, Xavier."

"Uh. Sorry for that."

"Wala ka bang klase?" I asked him when we fell into silence.

"Later pa mags-start. You should go, baka ma-late ka pa." he smiled.

We arrived on the third floor, wherein the classrooms were located for STEM students.

"Later, Therese." He waved and I just nodded.

When I entered the room, I saw Andrew sitting on my chair while arrogantly talking to my seatmate who doesn't give a crap about him.
