I stood by the ceiling to floor window staring at the bustling city, my mind racing with thoughts of her. It's been a week since I felt her in my hands, her warmth and body and it's driving me so damn crazy. I know she told me she would be staying at her mother's house a few hours away but every now and then I think of stealing her away from there.
We'd been texting and talking on the phone but it wasn't just the same, I needed to see her, to hold her before I go completely mad. A plan came to my mind as I grabbed my coat and keys and called mason as I entered the elevator.
“Wait for me at the parking lot, don't be late.”
I was going to suprise her. I knew the drive was going to be long as I looked out in the darkness of the night, but it was worth it. I wanted to see her beautiful smile when she opens the door, the joy lighting up her face.
The drive was silent and calming, but my mind was anything but calm as I replayed our last conversation, the way her voice softened when she talked about her mom, grandma and little sister and the slight tremor in her voice when she said how much she was missing me. She has no idea how much I've missed her, telling myself every night that she's going to come back soon.
As the car pulled into the driveway of her mom's house, nerves started to kick in. What if her family doesn't allow me in? What if she doesn't want to see me? I shook my head driving away those thoughts.
Why the hell am I thinking like this? Whether the heavens like it or not I'm not gonna leave here without seeing her. I needed to.
With that I grabbed my phone and coat as I walked up to the front door. I took a deep breath and knocked. The sound echoed through the quiet neighborhood, and for a moment I thought no one would answer.
Are they asleep already? It's only 8pm.
But then I heard footsteps, and the door creaked open.
I walked up to the front door, my heart pounding in my chest. I took a deep breath and knocked. The sound echoed through the quiet neighborhood, and for a moment, I thought no one would answer. But then I heard footsteps, and the door creaked open.
There she was, standing in the doorway, her eyes widening in suprise. “Ares?” She whispered, as if she couldn't believe I was real.
“Hey angel,” I said, a smile spreading across my face as she practically jumped on me, her legs wrapped around my torso. “I missed you so much.”
“I can't believe you're here,” she whispered in a low voice as she stared at me. “Why didn't you tell me you were coming?”
“If I had told you it wouldn't be a surprise anymore, would it?” I smiled as we went inside to the living where it was surprisingly empty. “Or. . .are you not happy to see me?”
“How dare you say that, do you have any idea how I've been feeling without being able to see or hold you.”
“Is that so? Then show me how much you've missed me.” I look into her eyes, then at her lips as she licked and bit them staring at me. Oh God I love when she does that.
