It was an amazing day. It was bright and sunshiny and the leaves were green and everything was amazing. According to Riley anyway. For me on the other hand, today sucks. It's just gonna be another day where we walk in to school, Riley sees Huckleberry, and she goes all swoony. She has to know he's just some sort of player. There's no way that he'll ever be her soulmate or the one for her. Y'know why? Because that's me. I've been with her since we were little kids, I've always helped her, I'm her best friend. Then suddenly one day bucky McBoing Boing shows up and I'm forgotten.

 Sure, she still talks to me and acts like we're best friends, but when we talk it's always about HIM. I can't break her heart and tell her any of this though, so I'll just have to watch the love of my life get her heart broken by some cowboy. I would never, no could never tell her that I am in love with her because I know she wouldn't feel the same. She'll never feel the same.

--Time skip to start of school--

Well I was right. Today was just like any other day. Riley was extra happy, saying she loved everything, we walked to school as always, and Riley called herself a plant. Just as we were about to walk into the classroom, I saw a sight that made my head spin and caused my cheeks to flush red from fury.

 Lucas was sitting there, chatting away like it was no big deal, to Missy! Of course she was flirting with him, twirling her hair and fluttering her lashes. I quickly put my hands over Riley's eyes so she couldn't see the horrid sight in front of her. "Ooh, I know who it is!" she said with too much enthusiasm. "It's Maya, I know because I saw you put your had on my face." Oh no. How could I tell her this. She might die from lack of smiles. She took my hand off her face and despite my protests, she looked in the room. Her face instantly fell. That crushed me and I held her as she slid her back down the wall. I was so mad at him. How the actual fuck could he does this to riles! I will kill him! 

-Riley-

We eventually walked into the classroom when the bell rang. I sadly slid into my seat and looked down at my desk. Maya looked furiously at Lucas and then she looked at me with a sad expression. I felt even more awful making Maya feel bad for me. The truth is, I wasn't sad about Lucas at all. I only pretended to like him to hide who I truly love.

Maya. I really love Maya.

My best friend Maya. My best friend since we were little kids! I was really sad because now I had to make a big scene, or people would start to question if I really liked Lucas. I hated having to fake feelings for him. I realized that I would have to do something soon, so I went up to Missy and told her off for talking to the boy she knows I like. Then I ran out of the classroom in tears because I didn't think I could do this anymore. I ran into a janitor's closet that was close enough to the classroom. It was dark, but there was a little light coming from a small lamp. This must have been the closet that Farkle inhabited after he was bullied.

I also noticed a box of turtlenecks and another box of books. I sat on the box of books and continued crying. "Why, why, why, why, why..." I trailed off as the door slowly opened to reveal a short but fiery blonde standing there. She came in and closed the door behind her, sitting down. "Riley, everything's gonna be okay! We'll get Huckleberry to explain and then you can have Mr. Perfect all to yourself again. It's gonna be okay." I couldn't take it anymore. I had to tell her.

"Maya!" I said with my eyes bolted shut as she rambled on about Lucas.  I took a deep breath and said, "I don't like Lucas! I never did and I never will. I have always liked someone else. I've liked this person since I was a kid! And I know that they'll never like me back, but I can't help it! I love them, I love you Maya!"

Maya cut her off by connecting their lips in a quick kiss. Riley was extremely shocked, although she still kissed her back. "Riles... I've always loved you. I never thought that you would feel the same way." This time it was Riley's turn to cut her off with another kiss, this one longer and more passionate. Once they came up for air Maya smirked and Riley blushed. "So you liked that huh?" Maya said, their lips centimeters apart. "Maybe..." Riley said. "Try a few more times and then I'll give you your answer." Maya grinned and said "Anything for you Honey." She kissed her one more time, slipping her tongue in her mouth. Riley let out a gasp that shifted into a small moan. "P-peaches..."

"Well, That's the bell." Maya said, pushing me off her so she could get up. "Wait," I said taking her hand and putting it back on my waist. "Stay a while." I said with  as much confidence in my voice as I could muster. "I mean, if you insist," Maya said with a sly smile, pulling me closer to her. I think I finally found my happy place.
