When Alfred came out of the restroom stall ready to wash his hands he was stunned - no, more like horrified - to discover his walker missing.
It was like having a part of his body tore away from himself.
What was going on? , he thought as he clung with his good hand to the stall door and fought to keep standing. His legs trembled slightly as he stood up.
How was he going to get to the sink to wash his hands? Hell. How was he going to get out of the restroom altogether?
His eyes darted in panic towards the shut restroom door and then he took a slow halting step forward as he released the stall door. Then one more. Then another until finally he reached the sink , feeling exhausted like he had just climbed a mountain. He summoned the energy to wash his hands as he pondered where his walking device was now. He could always buy a new one but Stan was special to him. He had had Stan for a really long time. Hell , Stan had been with him longer than Scott had been even.
As he clung to the sink the restroom door opened up and in walked a whistling Angel who instantly stopped whistling when he saw Alfred clinging to the sink area.
" Alfred ! ," Angel said as he hurried to his side and put his arms around the man to hold him up. " What the hell happened to you ? Where is that walker of yours , man ? "
Alfred looked at the nurse in much confusion. " I don't know. Stan is missing. "
