'cause the music does me good and it gets me every time

Dabi had returned home, but this time, her mind was more cluttered with thoughts than when she had initially left. The air in her room was heavy with the lingering scent of weed, needing a reliever.
The idea of living with James seemed ideal. They had been dating for three years, and she felt it was the perfect time to start thinking seriously about their future together. She envisioned a cozy life with him, filled with love and mutual support.
However, one thing gnawed at her relentlessly: the way he wanted to get the money. Selling cocaine. Weed was one thing, but harder drugs were something she wanted no part of.
The mere thought of dealing with such a dangerous and illegal substance made her uneasy, especially something so illicit that even in America, it was illegal.
"Smells like shit in here," Gyuri groaned, pinching her nose as she entered her older sister's room. Her makeup was freshly done, and her hair looked sleek, as if it had just been straightened to perfection.
"Sorry," Dabi apologized, quickly moving to open a window and let in some fresh air. "Are you just here to complain about the smell, or...?"
Gyuri ignored the question and headed straight for Dabi's closet instead of taking a seat. "Just need some clothes if that's okay."
"Yeah, just go shopping with my clothes, great," Dabi replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes.Turning her gaze away from her younger sibling rummaging through her tops, Dabi checked the weather for the night on her phone. The forecast predicted rain later on. "Bring a sweater, you'll need it," she warned, her voice softer.
As the cool evening breeze began to filter into the room, Dabi's thoughts drifted back to James and their uncertain future. The thought of him getting involved in something as dangerous as drug dealing filled her with dread. She loved him, but this was a line she wasn't sure she could cross.
Her gaze wandered to the notifications from James, who excitedly shared how he had successfully found some people willing to buy from him. Dabi rolled her eyes, feeling a mix of frustration and worry.
Stop being negative Dabi
It's all for the sake of our relationship"James asked me something yesterday," she began, drawing Gyuri's attention away from the clothes. "He asked if we could buy an apartment together."
Gyuri didn't seem surprised. Instead, she raised her eyebrows and pursed her lips in a way that screamed, 'Are you sure?' "What did you say back?"
"Obviously, I said yes," Dabi scoffed, feeling defensive. "He's my boyfriend.""Then what's holding you back?"
"What do you mean?" she felt the cold air rush through the window, sending goosebumps up her arms."Why are you telling me this?" Gyuri tilted her head, her curiosity piqued. "Usually, you do things without notifying anyone, but it's like you're asking me for advice."
"I... I don't..." Dabi stammered, feeling a sudden lump in her throat. Gyuri was right, and Dabi knew it.
She went back to ransacking the closet until she pulled out a purple top, smiling in satisfaction. "Thanks for the shirt though," she threw an air kiss before running out the room to get dressed for her night out while her big sister spent it on her bed, cuddling a plushie and forcing her mind to go to sleep.
