Author's Note
Hello beautiful people,
If you're reading this, that means you read the first book and didn't turn on your heels and decided to give book two a try or that cliffhanger was too much to bear and now you just wanna know how this story ends, in which case, you are also welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read this second installment of the 15 Days series. I am incredibly proud to have you all here and please enjoy. Of course, like the first book, I'm going to say this again
If you are easily offended by harsh language, do not read this book
If you are easily offended by obscene amounts of drug and alcohol usage, do not read this book
If you are easily offended by graphic depictions of violence or violence at all, do not read this book
A wise person once told me that you cannot live in the past forever. You have to move on and try to find your way. Enjoy and celebrate yourself and stop explaining yourself. Because of those words, I have been living my life as unapologetically as possible. I dedicate this book to both of my brothers: DJ and E. Both taught me that I am talented beyond what I could see and taught me to find pride in my work, and to never dull my shine. Thank you for being in my life and changing it for the better, E for however brief it was. Thank you DJ for helping me realize that I was ruining my own book by being worried about what the readers want instead of writing the story I wanted to tell.
Thank you both and this one goes out to you!
There she stood with her curly brown hair and even the fire on their lap couldn't stop them from drinking her in. Climbing out of the car, Detroit stood before Jade with nothing but pure discontent on their face. Why did she come here? If the others found out about her, they would find them distrustful. They would know the demon had a weak spot. They already compromised a great deal of their abilities when they protected the generals' families and transported them.
Jade smiled at Detroit, eyes glistening and drinking in the demon boy she missed. The way Detroit now wore a suit, a far cry from the tank top and ripped black jeans they used to always wear. She pulled her bag onto her shoulder, and watched Detroit go to reach out to touch her when they stopped. Madison came running out to flirt with the beautiful woman when Detroit sent him tumbling away and finally broke the intense stare they had on each other.
"I see you're still always looking out for me," Jade chuckled when she saw the younger male go flying into a pile of trash.
"What are you doing here?" Detroit asked, hastily. "Answer me!"
Jade walked closer to the demon forcing them to keep her stationary in her step. She couldn't get too close; they wouldn't be able to hold it together if they touched her skin again. They wouldn't be able to do their duty if they remembered how soft every bump felt under their fingertips; they wouldn't be able to say goodbye if those lips touched their face.
"What are you?"
"You can't be here! You have to go!" Detroit interjected, sending her back to the street she was previously on.
The other generals looked at Detroit both eager to ask for her name and intrigued as to how they knew each other. They slammed the car door closed and glared at the other men with flames raised high enough to be seen on their shoulders.
"Not a fucking word," Detroit seethed, pulled out a cigarette. "Not. A. Fucking. Word."
"Can we at least get a name?" Madison asked, ignoring the death stare Detroit was throwing at him.
