What Sleep Does to one's Health (Summary of Sleep and Student Health)

Sleep is important for the human body so we can gain energy to do certain things throughout the day. For teenagers, it's the most important. 8-10 hours of sleep is recommended for teenagers. If teens do not get much sleep, their ability to learn could start lacking. When learning abilities are taken away, grades are severely affected. It can cause an inability to concentrate and solve problems. Teenagers could also become vulnerable to anxiety, depression, and other horrible mental states. Physical health can also be affected by sleep. No sleep can make one have inactive physical activity. It can also lead to other risky behaviors such as drinking and smoking. Time spent on devices also plays a major role in sleep deprivation in teenagers. Studies have shown that light from LED screens affect the ability to sleep. It's recommended that one should turn off phones or other devices 1-2 hours before going to bed. It is also recommended to avoid exercise, TV, and eating before bed as well. In conclusion, Sleep plays major roles in many parts of a teenager's life, school, and other things like extracurricular activities.
