A great revelation.

I was in a deep struggle!

This nameless villain, frantic and powerful.

He took me by surprise and latched onto me with some sort of green slime!

It was disgusting, the way he tried to slide down my throat!

My gag reflex continued to fail as he held my body tight and persisted! I thought it was over for me.

I stopped trying to fight it. If this was the end, then so be it.

But, I suppose I wasn't meant to die just yet...

"DETROIT... SMASH!!"
A voice echoed through the streets as an amazing force blew away the villain!!

The pressure alone was enough to rattle my entire body!! It was a kind of power one would only dream to have.

It felt like a hallucination... To see such a man standing right in front of me.

"Are you alright young man?"

All Might, the current number 1 hero asked me as he placed me down and brushed off my shoulder.

"O-Oh, um... I'm fine!! Thank you! Thank you for saving me!"

I could barely contain my happiness!!

All Might! My hero! My idol! There was nothing in the world I wanted more than to be like him!!

"Now now, I was only doing my job!"

His smile shines brighter than the sun!! All Might bottled up the green slime-like villain as he spoke.

"You should be careful going back, alright?! I have some things to take care of so I'll be-"

"Wait!!"

I yelled before he could leave. I picked up my bag and pulled out my notebook.

It was new considering the old one was destroyed. Most of my notes have been transferred already.

"Please... I'm a huge fan!"
My eyes begged for him to stay!!

All Might sighed, although he seemed to be in a rush, he set a moment aside to sign my notebook. I took this opportunity to my advantage.

"A-And I do have one last question!! It's not that important but I'd really like your opinion!"

"Young man, I really must be going..."
He said, as steam began surrounding us.

I noticed it coming off of him but I'd assumed it was from the punch. Regardless, I stayed on task.

"It will be really quick, I swear!!"

Again, All Might have me another small moment of his time.

"Hypothetically... Do you think it would be possible for me to become a hero... without a quirk?"

The question was straight forward.
All Might thought for a moment, as if trying to find some explanation to give.

Finally he looked me in the eyes with his answer.

"Sorry kid. Without a quirk, there is no way for you to become a hero.

Maybe you could aim for a police officer or firefighter, but being a hero without a quirk...

It's just impossible!"

All Might's answer shattered every last dream I've ever had. Suddenly he didn't seem so bright anymore. Maybe it was a long shot.

Maybe I was waiting for him to encourage me or something.

But no, this just further proved my thoughts on the world.

You are nothing without a quirk.
You are nothing without a good quirk.
You are nothing if you are not strong.
You are nothing if you aren't number 1.

And as for All Might...
He'd be nothing without a quirk.

I held my head down and smiled to myself.

"I see... Thank you for your insight.
It has really opened my eyes."

I informed him. All Might suddenly looked a bit uneasy.

I ripped out the cover of my notebook that had All Might's signature.

I let it fall to the ground.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out a match.

It only took a second to light.

I finished by dropping in and watching the signature burn brightly on the ground as if it were my dying dream.

I looked up to All Might for the last time. His face was more or less full of horror and confusion.

The smoke on his continued to surround us but I paid no mind to it.

His mouth was open as if to say something but nothing came out.

I politely bowed to my Savior and turned to walk home in silence.

All Might stood without knowing what to do.

For some strange reason, as I left him behind, I felt a sense of liberation.

As if I was now free from the burden of trying to reach the clouds with no wings.

But even then, just because the dream was dead, it has not yet been forgotten.

The ground was damp.

The rain never stopped hitting relentlessly on the pavement.

Pages of my notebook were scattered around. The ink, now unreadable.

It has come to my attention that those with power are the predators of this world.

Because of this I realized early on how cruel life can be.

In a sense, I came to a conclusion. On that day I took it upon myself to let go of my pain.

As if I were ascending or Awakening some sort of dormant mindset I had never thought of before.

As time passed I lost track of how far I've gone. I stood drenched in the rain with a single thought in my mind.

One that changed my perception of everything I once knew.

"Filthy...

Corrupt...

This world has become a hive for ignorance...

The only way to purge it...

Eliminate the main source.

Quirks.

If it weren't for these God forsaken Powers bestowed upon us,

then maybe life would have been a bit brighter for a bottom feeder like me."

With those words coming out of my mouth, it was final.

My dire wish to end all suffering.

To bring about a world of peace and prosperity.

As if grabbing a God by his neck and banishing his blessings.

From that day on, my name, Izuku Midoriya, would remain useless.

Because I am no longer that person.
