- MAXINE-

Pagkatapos ng welcoming moment, andito ulit ako sa room ko. It's still the same as I left 3 years ago.

"My room is still the same ha?"

"Oo naman Maxine. Lord Devon refused to touch this room since you left" our maid Lexy said. She's helping me get washed and dressed.

"Si Mico? Asan siya?" tanong ko sa kanya habang sinusuklay ang buhok ko.

"Nasa kompanya ngayon si Mico but I'm sure he's already on his way here sa mansion" sabi niya and after she says that, the door to my room opens.

"Maxine?! Asan ka?!"

Speaking of the devil, he is here.

"Mico, what did I told you about going into a lady's room without knocking?"

Tumakbo naman siya papunta sa'kin saka niyakap ako. "I was so worried Maxine! Thank God you're safe and home. Sabi ko nga at walang kwenta yung lalaking yun"

"Yes, yes. I was, let's say, very immature back then. Immature pa rin naman ako ngayon but at least not as immature as I was back 3 years ago"

Mico is my one and only brother. In fact, we're twins. Fraternal kaya hindi klaro na magkakambal kami.

Nag-usap naman kaming dalawa ni Mico nung may kumatok sa pintuan. Napatingin naman kami ni Mico and it was Papa.

"Pa, magandang gabi" bati ni Mico saka nag-mano.

"Mico, I've heard you ran out of the conference meeting?"

"How can't I? Bernard told me my little sister came back home. Tsaka Gerald is doing his best naman pa. They'll survive the meeting without me" taas noong sabi niya.

Napa-iling naman si Papa. "I knew. Umalis na muna kayo. Me and Maxine has something to discuss" sabi ni Papa at aangal na sana si Mico pero wala rin siyang nagawa.

Mico and Lexy went out of the room and Papa sits down beside me.

"Giniginaw ka pa ba?" tanong niya sa'kin at umiling naman na ako.

"Hindi na Pa" sagot ko.

Papa took a deep breath and held my hand. "I'm really thankful at bumalik ka na rito sa atin Maxine. You really made me worry Princess" sabi niya and emotion drives me.

"I'm sorry Pa at hindi ako nakinig sa'yo non. You told me na that jerk is no good but I was blinded by love. I'm really sorry" I cried.

Niyakap naman ako ni Papa and taps my shoulders. Mas naiyak naman ako because of the guilt that I've felt. I even cursed at them. Nakakahiya. Nakaka-inis.

"Shh Princess, it's okay. Do you want me to bring that jerk down?" tanong niya at agad naman akong umiling.

"I'll bring him down myself Pa. I'll show him the consequences of playing with the Valdez. Babawiin ko sa kanya ang kompanyang dapat ay sa akin" determinadong sabi ko at narinig ko naman siyang natawa.

"That's my girl. Just tell me kung may maitutulong ako. I'm always ready to help Princess"

Mas hinigpitan ko naman yung yakap ko kay Papa. Tinapik niya naman ako saka may binigay na card.

"What's this Pa?" I ask.

"It's an invitation to the banquet held by the Patrico Group. No worries, there's no name on the invites. You can go with Mico" sabi niya and my eyes were wide open.
