“Ugh, I need a new lighter…” I mumble to myself, currently trying to light the cigarette in my mouth. It takes a few more tries, but it eventually lights.I had to sneak away to get here. I would be in class right now, but I wanted a smoke break. I like to smoke in this same area every time, just behind the school, leaning against the wall. It may be risky, I've been caught before, but I can't deny that the risk is almost exciting.
I smile to myself, lost in my thoughts as I let out a breath of smoke. And just when I thought this smoke break would go unnoticed, I hear footsteps. I recognize those footsteps. The footsteps of my favorite person at this wretched school, the student body president. Also known to me as the biggest nerd ever.
I quickly put out the cigarette, throwing it to the ground and stomping on it. Then he finally turns the corner, spotting me in my usual spot, an annoyed look on his face as he crosses his arms and leans against the wall.
“You're here again?” He asks me, staring at me with his brows furrowed.
I nod my head, a sadistic smirk on my face. “You are too, cutie.” I step closer to him, leaning against the wall along with him.
He scoffs and stands up straight, pushing off the wall and fidgeting with his tie. “You need to get back to class.” He demands as he averts his eyes away. If I didn't know better, I'd say he's a bit flustered.
“Why aren't you in class?” I push up from the wall as well, shoving my hands in my pockets. He scoffs again, something I've learned he does pretty often.
“I'm running errands for a teacher. I knew you'd be here so I came to check on my way back.” He tells me as he crosses his arms, looking back at me with a glare.
He's funny, always looking at me that way. I've noticed he only looks at me that way, he can't stand me. Little does he know, I find it cute, why not tease him a bit longer to see it more?
“Aww, you care.” I say with a small chuckle. He stutters at that, seemingly caught off guard. “A-as if! Get your ass back to class!” He yells at me, but his cheeks have reddened.
“Alright, alright. I'll go back if you give me a kiss.” I offer to him, pointing up towards myself for extra emphasis.
This just sets him off even more, his face red and his yelling follows. “Stop it! Just get back to class, idiot.” He glares at me again, obviously trying to settle the blush on his face.
Is he blushing because he likes me? Or is he blushing because I'm the first person to ever flirt with him in such a way?
“Alright, fine. Cool down, president.” My smirk turns to a casual smile, one you'd give a random passerby just to have good manners. I take a few steps closer to him, then pass right by him, already making my way back to class.
I pause for a second and look behind me to see him watching me, he blushes yet again once I notice him.
“Bye bye, president.” I coo, giving him a short wave as I turn the corner. I frown to myself once he's out of eyeshot, I don't wanna go to class. But the student body president told me so, so I must.
…
I watch him leave, hopefully he's going back to class. I let out a sigh once he's gone and lean back against the wall. Why does he have to be so difficult?
He's always rebelling in such ways, a deep contrast to the goody two shoes I appear to be. I am, but it's sad to admit.
I may be the student body president, have the highest grades, and a major teacher's pet, but I have few friends. Good friends are hard to come by when I run such an uptight schedule.
And he just lives to mess with my schedule. Always teasing me, just adding stress. Not many people treat me the way he does, no one talks to me in such vulgar ways.
Honestly, sometimes it's hard to tell if he's really joking or not. It's annoying, constantly having to deal with him. He just can't leave me alone sometimes.
I know I did approach him, but that's my duty. He doesn't have to mess with me the way he does. I wonder if his rebellious nature originates from problems at home.
Soon I collect my thoughts, ready to get back to class. I push off the wall and make my way back to class. But by the time I'm there, the class ends and people come rushing into the hallways from the different classrooms.
I sigh to myself and head into the classroom to grab my stuff and walk towards my next class. Now I just have one class left for the day, lucky me. Then I'll have a council meeting, then I'll finally be able to return to my dorm room.
And that's what I did. I went to my last class, went to the meeting, and finally got to my room, practically collapsing onto the bed.
I don't have a roommate, only a few people that go to this school live in the dorms, simply because they live too far away. I like my room, it's decorated to my standards and perfectly clean.
The school has meals for the students like me, breakfast and dinner, while lunch is served like any other school. Every dorm room has its own bathroom too.
But because of this, there are pretty strict rules regarding the dorms. To prevent procreation, they say. There's a curfew and a teacher who comes around to check if everyone is in their rooms at the curfew.
The school isn't very special, one of the top schools in the area, but not the best. That's how the school is able to afford dorms and meals for the students in them.
I wasn't able to rest for long, I knew I had homework to do. So I reluctantly sat up on the bed and dug out my laptop from my bag, quickly bringing it to my desk to begin.
I'm probably faster than most students when I do my homework, but I have more. After all the paperwork from my classes, I have to work on all the paperwork that comes with being the student body president.
Just paperwork for some upcoming events. Then I'm all done, sighing as I stand up from my seat at my desk. I quickly go to the bathroom, changing into more comfortable clothing than my school uniform.
Then I'm able to leave my dorm and make my way to the cafeteria for dinner. And just like usual, there's Jeremiah, the one guy that simply can't leave me alone.
