The story is about the female lead starting her 3rd year of highschool in the PH, she used to be living in the States but due to financial problems and tax they moved to the Philippines, where her mother lived.
By the way, she actually lived in the States went to the Philippines to start school before moving back to the States to start Elementary.
Her name is Shanella Andrea Johnson (Shanshan), she's around 15-16 and her mother is a nurse who works countless hours just to provide them food to eat and essentials.
Her father lives in the US and works as a Seaman and comes across plenty of countries and comes home to give them soveneirs whenever he has the time to.
Shan doesn't really know how to speak Bisaya/Cebuano, but with the help of her mother she learned new words and terms when she was young and was proud for her nationality.
Shanella has only one friend when she went to the PH, which is to be introduced in the next page.
