Tobias pov:
I woke up to being shaken by Vincent. "You need to get up, it's almost time for breakfast." I blink a bit before nodding as Vincent speaks. I sit up, rubbing my eyes slightly before standing up.
I follow Vincent into a semi-large room with a dining table in the middle. "Figured you'd like being one of the first rather than one of the last people." I look at Vincent before I smile softly, nodding slightly, "Yeah I hate being last.." I watch as Vincent sits down at the table before I sit down with him.
"Toby! It's good to see you survived your first day.!" I turn around and look to see Valerie setting the table. "Am I that bad of a roommate?" I turn towards Vincent as he speaks. "Yeah, I survived" I mumbled. After a bit, everyone eventually walked inside got seated in the dining room, and started eating.
"Y'all wanna go outside? Maybe play football or something?" I turn towards Matteo as he stands up, gesturing towards the door. After agreements from everyone, we all made our way outside.
Matteo grabs a ball before turning towards me. "You wanna play football?" I fidget with my hands before speaking. "I don't really play football and things like that.." I watch as he furrows his eyebrows before he speaks once more, "You don't play football, what do you do then?" Before I could speak, Valerie interrupted me. "Hush Matteo not everyone uses football as a coping mechanism" She then turns to me as Matteo rolls his eyes and walks to a field with some of the other boys. "Don't worry about Matteo he seems rude but I promise you he's not as bad as he seems, you can chill with us if you want or you could catch up to Vincent and Cole, up to you" I watch as she points to the duo as they walk down a trail. "I'm going to catch up with them," I say as I quickly run after them.
After catching up with them, I join in their conversations. "I know I saw the damned thing somewhere" Cole huffs as he throws his arms around. "What's happening" I question before Vincent speaks up, "Cole thinks he saw a cat run down this trail but we haven't seen or heard a single thing." I nod along, now keeping my eyes on the lookout for a cat. "I know I saw a cat it was like a rusty color." I look towards Cole as he speaks before looking down the trail. As we continue the walk down the trail, Vincent stops before shushing Cole. Vincent quietly walks towards a fallen tree before lifting a small bunch of fur from the ground. "See I told y'all I saw a kitten!" I tune Cole out as Vincent sets the kitten in my arms.
"We can keep her in mine and Toby's room for now." I nod along to Vincent's words as I pet the kitten. "What should her name be?" I mumble as I pet the kitten. "How about Mabel?" I look at Cole as he speaks before nodding. "Yeah mabels a good name." I smile, as Vincent pets Mabel.
