Sometimes, Lyla Marianne Cabrera thinks the world is out for her.
It had always been her dream to be an actress, even before finding success as a singer, and now that dream has become a reality.
She looks back at the day she was told she booked the Percy Jackson series with fondness. It was one of the best days of her life. And then she remembers the look on her face when it was announced that Charlie Bushnell would be playing her love interest.
The thought of the boy made Lyla's face scrunch up in disgust. Just thinking of it made her stomach turn and want to vomit. She detested every bit of him. The sight of his pretty face, the smell of his cologne, the sound of his laughter whenever he made some teasing remark about her, and the way he made her feel like she was the only girl in the world — only to replace her with a girl that was pretty much another version of herself.
And now that they've reconnected, he's acting like absolutely nothing happened between the two of them and it's sending Lyla into a crisis (She doesn't know whether she wants to punch him in the face or kiss and make up.)
