~Solayne's POV~

I wake up to an empty bed, the memory of his presence still lingering. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I sit up and stretch, feeling the drowsiness slowly dissipate. A glance at my phone reveals the time 9:50. I sigh, realizing I've overslept again.

After making the bed, I head to my room to freshen up. Getting dressed in my same attire from yesterday, I make my way downstairs scanning through Myra's worrisome messages waiting for me. I respond briefly, smiling at her concern.

Stepping into the kitchen. I find Arzhel cooking shirtless in gray sweatpants. His muscles flex with each movement, and I hum to myself, watching him. Memories of our kiss last night flood my mind, and my cheeks flush. I hide behind my phone, taking a seat, trying to rid my mind from those thoughts.

Arzhel then turns around, his hands moving deftly as he beats the eggs in the container, the mixture swirling together in a smooth, creamy motion.

"Good morning," he says, his eyes meeting mine for a brief moment before returning to the stove.

"Want any help?" Desperate to avoid any awkward silence, I try to fill the gap, but he declines my offer with a subtly head's hake. He then pours the egg mixture into the pan, the sizzling sound and clinking utensils punctures the silence. I steal a glance at him, flailing for a conversation topic, but the silence persists, thick and heavy.

"You slept alright?" Just as the silence becomes unbearable, he decides to speak up, and I feel a wave of relief wash over me. He glances over his shoulder, his eyes locking onto mine, and for a brief moment, we share a connection, a sense of mutual understanding that we're both trying to find our way through this uncomfortable exchange

"I did, yes," I reply, watching him dish out a plate sliding it across the table to me.

Murmuring a thank you, I dig into my food, closing my eyes to savory the moment

Murmuring a thank you, I dig into my food, closing my eyes to savory the moment. There is no way this is just eggs. I open my eyes looking at the loaded plate of food before me.

"You will put my cooking skills to shame any day" I complement taking a sip of the mint tea he placed on the table.

Chuckling, he nod relaxing in his seat. " This was my mom's favorite dish back then, she calls it a little bit of everything."

"Well now it's mine" stuffing my face with something else we both eat in silence.

"I'm working late tonight," he says suddenly.

I look at him, concerned, swallowing my food, I point the fork at him."You need rest, Arzhel. You can't keep pushing yourself like this."

He sighs, his expression guarded. "I know, but I can't sleep. Not without... distractions."

I sense a deeper meaning behind his words, but he doesn't elaborate.

"I don't mind sleeping with you" I state figuring out what he meant by distractions. His fork fell on the glass plate with a click and I look at it, then to him to see him covering his face with his hands. Sighing loudly I stop chewing as I watch him in distress.
