Chapter 5: The crystal 1

After the BIG incident that happened the day before, everyone has been suddenly quiet, especially Maya, she won't talk to anyone and won't eat even if she does, it will be a little.Its Saturday afternoon, Maya wakes up because of the ray of sunshine on her bed or let's say face.

"Urgh...". She uses the pillow to cover her face. "It's morning,already? Great, another new day".

She said in a sarcastic tone. She gets up as she remembers she promised herself to go to Rita's place today. She brushes her teeth, takes her bath, and gets ready to eat breakfast when she hears a knock on the door.

"Who's it" "It's me, dear". She opens the door. Maya thought. Doesn't she know she is not to come inside a person's room without hearing the word "come in".

"Good morning,dear, breakfast is ready". "I'm not hungry". For some reason, Maya lost her appetite, she wasn't doing this because she hated her mom, she was doing this because she wanted to let her mom know that what she did was wrong. "Huh?" "I said i'm not hungry". Rosa leaves the room sad and wondering whether what she had done the other day hurt Maya to the core. "But i was only watching out for her". After dressing up, she goes downstairs.

"Good morning,dad" "Good morning,but won't you join us..." "later". She hopes on her scooter. "Where is Maya?" "She went out" "And you couldn't stop her"

"Aaargh..." Granny groans in pain. "Mother... Easy mum". She helps her down the stairs. "I'll have to talk some sense into her"

"Where's Maya?" "Um, mother, Maya went out. Come have breakfast with us". "When she comes back, tell her i want to speak with her" "Sure"

There's a knock on a door. "Maya, it's you, how was sleep last night?" "i slept well, mam" 'I'm sure your mother wasn't harsh on you back at home". "Well, she acted normal to me".

Cherlyn felt pity for her. "Don't be so down Maya, I'm sure she cares for you, i too can be strict sometimes, Rita knows that, look, it's for the best" "But you didn't scold Rita yesterday" "Are you sure about that?"

"Thank you mam, i appreciate it, i would like to see Rita." "Oh sure, Rita! your friend is here to see you, would you like some snacks, dear" "nope, i'm fine" "Okay". Rita pops out from the door to see Maya, almost pushing her mom. "Rita.." "Sorry, mom" "Maya, so glad to see you" "I will give you guys sometime"

"Take it easy Rita, you almost knocked your mom to the floor" "Don't worry, she will be fine, i'm worried about you, Did your mom ground you, did she seize your scooter, wait, where is it? Oh there it is"

"None of... well, whatever you are talking about happened, I came here to let you know i am still going to the temple, so would you be coming with me" "What, Are you..., you know your mom scolded you yesterday and you still want to...Oh goodness, Maya, i don't think this is a good idea, remember when we went to the temple"

"I don't think i would be coming with you, and yes your mom said not to go near the temple" "And i don't think anyone should stop me from doing what makes me happy, i love to explore and if she's not fine with it then i don't need her consent, and if you are not coming with me too, then i don't need you too". Maya looks at Rita with disbelief and disappointment.

"Maya what if your mom is really trying to protect you?" "No she isn't" "I am not in support of this" "What? Rita? You are saying this?" "Your mom must have a reason she doesn't want you to go to the temple, and its for the best, trust me"

"No! No! Rita, it can't be for the best, i want to go out there i want to be free" "And you will be free..." Rita places her palm on Maya's shoulders. "...just go home and make up with your mother, you explain to her and everything will be fine"

"Are you sure?" "Have i ever lied to you" 'Um yeah, when you told me that my mom was cooking potatoes and when i got there, there were no single potatoes". "That was then" "Are you sure about that?
