Heather walked into a bar, feeling sad and down. After Veronica's suicide and the school shooting committed by JD she hadn't felt the same. She was never happy, and only found any sort of joy in alcohol. Heather Duke, the only surviving friend had become famous and left her behind, and was now a famous actor. Everyone else she had known was dead. Kurt, Ram, Heather, Veronica. All gone. There was one person who helped her through though. As she opened the door to the bat Gale was waiting behind the counter. He was the bartender, a former Marine with a sick scar and a rough personality. Those who knew him better, however, knew that he was nicer, on the inside. Heather sat down at the counter, resting her head on his hands. "Get me something strong," she said. "Hello Gale. How are you Gale? You look good tonight Gale!" He replied in a sarcastic tone. He got her a bottle of whiskey, sliding it over. Heather popped the cork, taking a long swig. "How's the family?" He asked. "My mom got in a wreck." Heather replied. "Oh-" Gale looked at her. "I'm sorry...." She shrugged. "It's my fault. Karmas a bitch, if I was better in highschool I wouldn't be so bad off now." She drank more. Gale watched, concerned. She kept drinking and drinking, till her head spun. "OK that's enough." Gale took the bottle away. She whined. "Noooooooo" she complained, reaching for it. "If you drink more you'll kill yourself." Gale insisted. "Good." She responded. "I deserve it." He shook his head. "You're a good person Heather. You deserve better." She wanted to reply, but couldn't. She passed out.
When she woke up she was in a bed she didn't recognize, all curled up in a warm blanket. She sat up, feeling the hang over. "Ow." She could smell eggs cooking. She got up, following the smell to the kitchen, where she found Gale making breakfast. "Woah. That's so 87." She said. He turned and looked at her. "What?" He looked confused. "You wouldn't get it" she sat at the table, yawning. Gale finished making her food, and gave it to her. She scarfed it down like she was half starved. She finished and sat there in silence with him. He broke it. "You can't keep drinking. Next time I'll kick you out." She shook her head. "I have to" "no. I'll help you" he insisted. "Why?" She asked, confused. "Because...... because I love you"
