Apollo watched the girl walk out of the bathroom. She paced as she rubbed the towel against her wet hair. "Del," Apollo called to her from the bed. She sighed, turning to look at him. He patted the mattress, encouraging her to sit. Delilah slowly walked over, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Tell me, baby." Apollo took the towel from her hands, slowly rubbing it against her scalp. "He started being an asshole first," Delilah turned and looked over her shoulder to Apollo. He nodded, still drying her hair with the towel. "Bennett had a stupid idea and he was the one who said I should be in first! Not me!" Apollo threw the towel on the floor, "What was the idea?" Apollo asked, scooting back so he could lean against the wall. "He thinks we should focus on a spot instead of just racing. And he said I should focus on being in first." Apollo nodded, pulling Delilah closer to him. She pulled her legs over his waist, sitting slouched as she laid her head on her knees. "And he said Micheal can focus on staying fifth in case we need a tiebreaker. And he got pissed," Delilah shook her head, Apollo laid his hand on her lower back for support, slowly moving it up and down.

"And he was saying stupid shit, dude." A few knocks landed on the door, the couple looked at it. "Who is it," Apollo yelled, "Calvin." Delilah got up quickly, opening the door for him. "So," Calvin said as he came and sat in the bed with the couple. "Why were you and Micheal racing?" Delilah sighed, "First off, he started being a dick first." She waved her index finger as she spoke, Calvin nodded. "As I was telling Apollo, Bennett had a stupid idea and he was the one who said I should be in first. Not me." Calvin put his hands up to stop her, "Wait, what? What was Bennett's idea?" Delilah gave a ruffled look to Apollo. "He thinks we should focus on a spot instead of just racing. And he was the one who said I should focus on first or second because I'm the fastest, not me!" Calvin furrowed his brows and thought to himself for a second. Apollo watched him think, then looked to Delilah who was scrunching her nose. The longer Calvin lingered the stronger the smell of his spicy deodorant grew. "But then, Micheal started yelling at me," Delilah scoffed, crossing her arms. "Like I came up with that stupid idea. If we all just raced normally we would be fine." Apollo pursed his lips, not exactly agreeing. "What did you say to him, though?" Apollo asked, "You guys were already yelling at each other when I went out."

Delilah clenched her jaw, "Well," She extended her word. "Kid," Calvin tilted his head back, "You can't be arguing with your damn teammates." Delilah rolled her eyes, "I didn't say anything bad." Calvin shook his head, "Then what did you say?" Delilah licked her teeth and then smacked her lips, "You know... I just said he might not be the best pick." Apollo looked at her, knowing she was lying. Delilah sighed, "I said he doesn't deserve to be on this team." Calvin and Apollo both stayed silent. Delilah took a breath, "I know it was rude." Calvin nodded, "He worked just like you did to get here."  "Okay, but you don't know what he said. He was being an asshole first." Apollo looked over to Calvin, "What did he say to you," Apollo asked as he turned his view back to her. "He asked Bennett why they should let the bitch take all the credit for first." Apollo furrowed his brows, "He- what the fuck?" Delilah nodded, "And he said I'm only here to bring in money from horny, old men." She exhaled, "So, I told him he didn't deserve to be on our team. With people who actually had fucking talent, and weren't some," She looked up. "Lucky pick, that motherfuck."

Apollo took a deep breath and Calvin was silent. "I see," Calvin finally spoke after seconds of silence. "You have practice with him tomorrow morning." Delilah nodded, "Kid, we can't back out now. We already started, and we're always going to finish. I know he's an asshole, but I want to see you finish this stupid ass competition," He paused, "With another win." She gave him a small grin and he winked at her. Calvin touched her shoulder, "Power through, Kid." He gave it a light squeeze, then he left the room. Apollo looked at the girl, her frustration gone, but still a look of hopelessness. "Del," He said, she looked up to him. "You know I'm not going to watch you be unhappy. If you want out, I'll get you out." She thought for a moment and after that moment she shook her head. "No," She mumbled, Apollo nodded. "Okay, and hey," He lightly hit her shoulder. "I won't make you deal with these assholes by yourself." Delilah rolled her eyes, "Great, another one." Apollo huffed, lying down in bed. "Are you napping?" Delilah pushed her arms against his side, pulling her head over his body to look at him. "Girl, get off of me." He scooted his body, "Do you want to get food after?" Delilah asked, lying down next to him. Apollo turned to see her, she pulled the blanket up to her jaw, facing away from him. He wrapped his arms around her torso, pulling her closer. "Mhm," He mumbled.

Bennett knocked on Delilah's door over and over again. He sighed, hitting with more force, "Who is it," A man finally yelled, "Bennett." The room was quiet again, "What do you need?" Apollo looked at the sleeping Delilah. "Can I come in," Bennett lightly pushed his forehead against the door. He could hear Apollo grumbling, "Yeah, come on." Bennett opened the door. He saw Delilah's body curled up into a ball, Apollo's arm was underneath her, wrapping around her waist. "What?" Apollo asked, he didn't even face Bennett. He stayed with his head lying on the shared pillow. "We got some food if you guys would like to join us for lunch." Apollo was ready to reject him, but Delilah woke up. "What did you guys get," She asked, her hair messy. Apollo wiped her hair out of her face, "We just got some sandwiches, it's from Greg's? I don't know if you've heard of it."

Delilah sat up in bed, "Yeah, we'll be down in a minute." Bennett nodded and walked out of the room. "Are you going to make up with Micheal?" Delilah shrugged, "I don't think I was in the wrong." Apollo nodded, "You weren't. He's an asshole." Delilah got out of bed, fixing her hair in front of the bathroom mirror. "Yeah, but he's still my teammate. We can't just- you know." Apollo nodded, standing behind her and watching her every move in the mirror. He placed his hands on her waist, "I'll get you out if you want out," He whispered in her ear. Delilah shook her head immediately, "I'm going to finish it." Apollo gave her a soft smile and followed her downstairs.

Lunch was tense. Everyone was silent, not daring to look at one another. Micheal scrolled on his phone while he used little manners at the dinner table. Delilah and Bennett looked at each other at the same time, they locked eyes. Staring for a couple of seconds then they both looked back down to their food. "Why do we have to eat together?" Jason didn't look up, just continued to stare at his plate. Everyone, but Micheal and Apollo, looked at him. "We're bonding," Bennett answered. Micheal scrolled, coming to a video with his volume up loudly. The song playing hit the ears of everyone, everyone looked at him. "My fault," He said with a mouth full of food. Delilah watched him repeatedly push into the lower volume button. Jason chuckled to himself, "Some bonding," He mumbled. Delilah sighed, looking back to her food. She glanced over to Apollo's plate. It was empty, she looked up at him, and he was already looking at her. Apollo had been waiting for her to finish. Apollo slid his hand onto her thigh and pulled his phone out of his pocket. "You got a better idea?" Bennett raised his brows at Jason. Jason thought for a moment, "Yeah, let's play a game." Now everyone looked at him. "Two truths and a lie?" Delilah rolled her eyes, "To get to know each other." "That's stupid," Delilah spoke, not finishing her food. Apollo leaned down to whisper in her ear, "Are you done?" She looked at him and nodded her head, so he took the rest from her.

"Why don't you go first, Delilah?" Jason laid his head in his hands, Delilah leaned back in her chair, shaking her head. "No," She crossed her arms, "It's stupid." Micheal finally put his phone down, "I'll go." The table was quiet, looking at Micheal. "My last name is Truman, I'm not a racer and Delilah's the biggest bitch at this table." Apollo snapped his head at him, "That's obviously the lie because you are," Delilah said looking into her lap. "Alright, fuck you," Micheal yelled at her. "Shut the fuck up," She yelled back. Micheal and Delilah started to yell at each other, their words blending. Apollo joined in, threatening Micheal. "All of you shut up," Bennett yelled, slamming his fists on the table. The arguing stopped and it was silent again. "You're acting like children." Elizabeth held onto his hand, "We're a team and we're going to be one til this competition is over. Stop being so fucking petty! We have practice tomorrow morning and you will all get along." Bennett stormed off, Elizabeth quickly following behind him. Delilah took a deep breath, everyone stayed still and silent at the table. Delilah stood, Apollo quickly copying her action. She cleared her throat, "Sorry, Micheal." He looked up to her, shook his head, and quickly left to his room. Delilah grumbled, going to her room, Apollo following. Apollo watched her walk into the bathroom and slam the door shut.
