The grass was cold, refreshing against the humid air that was so commonplace in Oregon. Or maybe in this mysterious state the air happened to be crisp and cool or sharp and hot, perhaps it was only like this in Gravity Falls; where everything was different.
Everything. No, that's not an exaggeration. Try and imagine that you're at Madame Tussaud's and suddenly the wax figures jump to life, or picture your neighbor's creepy garden gnome's one true desire is to marry your sister! Compare what you're doing right now, to hiding from a bloodthirsty monster deep in the woods.
Yep, everything is different here.Dipper scribbled some of these notes into a journal of his own that Stan had bought him at the local corner store. Normally Stan wouldn't ever buy him or Mabel anything (Only once had him and Mabel been allowed to pick an item from the gift shop), but for some reason Dipper writing his own journal was another rare exception. It seemed to make Stan happy that Dipper took to writing, he'd even taught him a few tips on sketching that Dipper assumed his brother had taught him.
Anyway, today Dipper was in quite a predicament. With his pen scribbling furiously to calm his nerves, and one eye latched behind the bush he had burrowed under, Dipper felt quite vulnerable. He felt a rap of a cane tap his back twice.
"What are you doing down there pine tree?" Bill cooed and offered him a hand up.
Dipper choked down a scream, slightly succeeding by letting out a small whimper. The bright triangle illuminated in front of him, like a neon restaurant sign his color shown through and around Dipper's cover. Smacking the cane away, Dipper's face flushed red.
"Are you trying to kill me?!" Dipper yelled in a hushed voice, "Oh, wait you probably are!" He scrambled upwards, "Is there an off switch on this thing?!"
"Geez Pine Tree, back off don't be so touchy!" Bill laughed not even trying to remain silent. He threw his large cane at Dipper's face and Dipper ducked quickly before the large object smashed his head in. Suddenly, Bill closed his one large eye tight and vibrated with concentration, (Dipper hoped he was focusing on turning his lights off). With a flash, Bill's sheen grew larger and whiter and Dipper couldn't hold back a yelp as the brightness forced him to go reeling backwards with his eyes shut, through the bushes and into the open.
Dipper had never been more annoyed/furious in his life. He stood up, dirt clinging to his pants where he had collided and he turned towards Bill who had vanished like some sick magicians trick.
"Of course.." Dipper muttered through clenched teeth and he reached down to pick out his journal from the shrub. However, he was soon gripped tightly by sharp, scallop-edged claws.
"Wha-What?! WHAT!" Dipper shrieked as he was lifted from the air, arms pinned to both sides as if sewn to his torso. He pulled violently to escape but only his neck and legs were still available, so his efforts proved futile.
"MA-MABEL, MABEL!!" He yelled as the fist shifted so that he could face the bug eyed creature head on. It was a Spibear, he had read about it in his journal, to his dismay only unpleasant things had been logged about this creature; its temporary paralyzing and mind-numbing venom in its stinger, its tendency to wrap its prey in webs, it's amazing tree climbing skills, and its massive height/strength. Dipper fought to remember its weakness, (ah ha!) extreme cold! But how was he going to...-?
"DIPPER!!" Mabel's frantic scream could be heard from a distance away. She sounded tense and panicked, out of breath as well, did she really hear his cries from all the way at home?
However, the Spibear had heard his sister's calls as well and it began to roar and shriek. Dipper was jostled around in the Spibear's large paws as the creature hustled backwards on its spindly legs. It was quiet and still for a moment as it contemplated about what to do next, the calm before the storm.
All of a sudden, it flung Dipper to the ground and with a scream he landed painfully but safely. He hastily picked himself up, aching, terrified, and ready to book it. Until, he felt a sharp pain in his back. It was almost painless but sharp nonetheless, and he looked down at his stomach with woozy uncertainty. Well, would you look at that, the pointy dealy went right through him, it poked right out the other end, right on o ut.
"Mabel don't, Mabel, ma. Marvel." He drooled to himself, "Marble, ya-you trust-" The spear was thrust out of him and he fell forwards. Pictures of red, yellow, and the darkest of black danced for him in his dreams.

Mabel had watched as her brother stormed out of their bedroom, hidden tears and a look of betrayal etched into his eyes. Dipper had been quiet the whole time Stan's brother had arrived. Mabel knew she had picked Stan to trust over Dipper, leaving her twin with the literal feeling that he couldn't trust anyone.
Afterwards Mabel's usual goofiness had disappeared to be replaced with raw seriousness as she tried to earn back her brothers trust. But he'd left the room before she could finish her sentence, journal in hand.
She cried for a while. She had made the right choice, and for that she was grateful, but at what cost? With a pillow stained wet, she closed her eyes and fell into a dark and damp dream."SHOOTING STAR!" Bill was suddenly in front of her, waving his cane in her field of vision. He was brighter than usual and Mabel leapt backwards in surprise covering her head, tight with her arms.
"Are you angry?" She questioned timidly.
"Pssh, not right now kiddo." He giggled and straightened his bow tie, "But boy, your brother suuuure is. See, THIS is why I recommend being an only child, siblings are worthless and a handful!"
Mabel sighed, ignoring Bill's extra chatter, "yeah... He is mad isn't he?" She hugged her legs and rocked back and forth.
"Ahh I knew you'd be this way!" Bill wagged a finger at her pouting face, "So I devised a plan of my own! While Pine Tree was out hiding from this big monster I put him to sleep, scared him in his dream, and sent him reeling into danger!" Bill clapped his hands together.
Mabel popped upwards, aghast. "You-you did whAT?!"
Bill put his hands on his hips, "I gave you an OPPORTUNITY to go earn your brother back again by saving his life!" He sighed, "you should be down on your knees, thanking me!"
"Bill no no NO! I have to go! I have to help him! Lemme out! Lemme go!" Mabel cried and shook the triangle.
"Geez, a thank you would be appreciated..." Bill laughed as he snapped his fingers, sending Mabel back to reality.
"DIPPER!!" Mabel screamed at the top of her lungs as she rocketed out the door and into the woods.

Dipper awoke on a cold wet floor, he pressed his eyebrows down tightly and turned his head in pain. His back was buzzing with pain, stomach too and his head was foggy making everything feel like a dream.
He tried to sit up and he suddenly felt nauseous, he quickly turned his head and emptied his stomach.
Panting heavily Dipper groaned loudly and memories still failed to lend him a helping hand. He stood up, rocking on his own two feet, and leaned against a nearby tree for support. Bill. Suddenly Dipper's confusion became wrapped in rage as he began to remember a certain triangle's part in all this. Bill, the Spibear, everything flooded back and punched Dipper into understanding.
He remembered everything except what happened after the Spibear threw him to the ground only eerie uncertainty remained there. Dipper hunched over as his stomach and back both sent sharp waves of pain through him, "ughh..." Dipper moaned. He inspected his stomach carefully to make sure his injury wasn't serious, but upon lifting his shirt all he discovered was a small puncture. It was deep but small like the kind of wound a doctors needle would inflict.
He groaned again, more out of frustration this time, as he realized the Spibear had stabbed him with its venomous stinger. Dipper was just lucky the stinger was so paper-thin that it could go right through him without ripping apart any... major organs. He must've been stung when his back was turned, making him an easy target for the monster's temporary paralyzing venom. (Thank god it's temporary).
He pushed himself away from the oak that he was using for support and wobbled through the woods, wooziness fogging his sense of direction.
Dipper suddenly tripped over a root, and face-planted into a pile of mud. He pushed himself up in frustration and spat out the mud that found its way through his teeth, with a sudden horrifying realization Dipper noticed this mud wasn't dirt mixed with water but blood.
He shot upwards, quickly spitting and wiping himself clean. Who's blood was that? It couldn't be his, his wounds were too minor.
Dipper turned towards the root, ready to unlatch his shoe from underneath but was greeted by yet another surprise. He'd tripped over one of the Spibear's spindly legs and the mysterious blood happened to be that of the creatures. Dipper gazed in awe at the fallen monster, stretching his neck to look for what injury had ultimately led to its demise. Who had done this?
He trotted around it, eyes locked on the intriguing scene. It had knocked down trees and rock walls, then half of it had plummeted into a small river. Dipper looked down into the water, and saw what had killed it: A star-shaped wound that had cracked it's skull and taken out a few of it's spider-eyes. What had done that?
"Unngh..."
Dipper heard someone groan and he backed up, startled. Leaning over to inspect further he discovered something that made him nauseous all over again...
"...Mabel?!"
