Park Gyubin and the girls were at a local parking lot waiting for the set to be recorded. She wore denim overalls that reminded her of Fnkl from their debut era. In fact there are some comparisons to that particular girl group.
"We're so used to seeing Hyori ajumma so mature that it's easy to forget she was once like us girls. I wonder how she felt during her debut?" Gyubin asked herself.
"This overall is totally back in style!" Wonhee took a selfie nearby. Yunah shook her head at her antics.
"At least turn off the flashers!" Moka rubbed her eyes.
"Mianhe sis. Ya girlie is trying to impress the fans." Wonhee moved away so she could continue taking more selfies.
"It's been crazy seeing the views increase. I knew we going to be popular but I didn't think it would blow up like this." Iroha admitted.
"We're the new Hybe group. You know how such a reputation works. My only hope that it doesn't create conflict with the other groups. While Eugenes were pretty happy about us, there are others that do not." Gyubin said.
"You don't mean Bunnies right?" Moka wasn't liking this.
"Not all of them obviously, but there are some that do not appreciate our presence. It's sad because we're not that alike. We have our concept and our own lore." Gyubin explained.
Although a lot of them supported them and became fans, she can't deny there are a small minority that doesn't like them. In fact they almost despise them. The comparisons between them and NewJeans didn't make any sense to her. Sure they're aiming for the younger demographic but they have different identites. It's almost like they see them as rivals.
"Such a sad case but it is expected. The greatest threat to a girl group is another girl group. Time and time again rival fandoms clashed. We all saw it with Ive's and Aespa's fandoms. My only hope that it doesn't become toxic." Yunah said with hope.
Wishful thinking could only get you far and Gyubin was feeling the tension from the growing discourse. She wondered if Garam felt the same way when she got moved to NewJeans. Only time will tell...
