When the ceremony for those who passed the Entrance Exam arrived, (Y/N) showed up a bit earlier than Light whilst donning a nice dress that fluttered in the breeze. Cherry blossoms scattered about around her, and she stayed still in that moment, feeling quite serene as she did so. It was only when she heard footsteps approaching her did she turn, spotting Light walking toward her with a rather neutral expression.

    He didn't seem too excited.

"What's with that face, Light?" (Y/N) tilted her head as she propped a hand on her fist, giving him a disbelieving smile. "Aren't you happy that you're now a college student?"

"Of course I'm happy," Light brushed past her. "Let's just head in."

(Y/N) rolled her eyes as she followed him

    Same old Light Yagami.

Sitting down next to Light once inside the massive auditorium, (Y/N) crossed one leg over the other as she began to listen to an older man start to speak. She zoned out a couple times throughout his speech since she didn't particularly care about what he was saying, but she listened for the most part since she had to go up once her name was called.

    The hour ticked by slowly.

"Now for the freshman address," the man finally announced. "Freshman representative, Yagami Light."

    "Yes," Light stood up.

    "Freshman representative, Ryuga Hideki."

"Oh, I'm here," a voice rang out, whispers soon crescendoing due to wondering if this Hideki Ryuga was the pop star Hideki Ryuga, soon enough gazing at someone who looked nothing like him.

"And finally, freshman representative, (L/N)(Y/N)," the man finished, stepping aside so all three students could speak at the podium.

"Yes," (Y/N) affirmed as she too walked up the steps toward the stage to stand next to L, still able to hear others talking about her and the two next to her even as all three read their speeches—the most were concerning how underdressed L was and how different he looked compared to how groomed both her and Light appeared to be.

But, it was only when they began walking back to their sits did he reveal his true nature.

"Yagami Light?" L spoke in a low murmur that could only be heard by said boy and (Y/N). "Your father is Chief Yagami Soichiro of the NPA. Your respect for your father is matched only by your strong sense of justice. And (L/N)(Y/N)? You moved here to Japan a year ago, and have quite the background. You both have skills far beyond that of normal eighteen years olds—uncommon really."

Both of them stiffened at his sudden proclamations—though for different reasons—as he stared at them with that owlish gaze of his. The three then sat down in front this time with Light in the middle and L and (Y/N) on either side of him.

"You're planning to join the police agency when you graduate," L continued, addressing Light. "And you already have experience, seeing as you helped the police solve a number of cases before in the past. I'm impressed by both your abilities and sense of justice. And now, you're interested in the Kira case. If you promise not to tell anyone about this, I have important information concerning the investigation that I'd like to share with you."

"Do you now?" Light muttered, his eyes narrowing as he listened to the man.

"Of course," L answered before his gaze then slid to (Y/N), watching her curiously out of the corner of his eye. "And as for you, Miss (L/N)... there are so many coincidences around you that I can't help but wish to confide in you."

"And what is it you wish to confide?" She questioned, having a feeling she already knew what.

    "I want to tell you... I'm L."

Silence fell between the three after L's confession, all looking ahead to the stage as if nothing were wrong, though. (Y/N), however, could practically hear Light's internal monologue from the way it seemed the gears were turning in his head, knowing that he would be panicking since he couldn't do anything about L even if he wanted to—if he did, it would only be confirmed that he was Kira.

Then, after a moment, Light stated with a small smile, "If you are who you say you are, then you having nothing but my respect and admiration."

"Thank you," L responded plainly as he turned back to the front, not catching the smooth lie he was told. "The reason I chose to reveal my identity to the both of you is because I think that you could be of some help to us on the Kira investigation."

"If this guy's really L, like he says, then consider me impressed," Ryuk chuckled, hovering over them and staring with intent curiosity lingering in his yellow eyes.

    (Y/N) smirked.

    You should be impressed, Ryuk.

    However...

    Her smile then fell.

    One thing still bothers me.

"L is a smart man," (Y/N) spoke up, drawing both of the mens' attention. "He wouldn't just casually reveal his identity to two strangers, even if one of them has a connection to the NPA detective in charge of the Kira investigation. It's just a risk I'm not sure he'd want to take." Her (E/C) eyes then met L's, continuing, "And what's more, if L truly did know of the 'coincidences' surrounding me, that would be all the more reason not to tell."

"You're as cunning as I've heard you were," L smirked as he pressed his thumb to his lip.

    (Y/N) blinked.

   God damn, that was hot.

Peeling her eyes away from his, knowing she shouldn't be thinking such thoughts, she waited with a tense position for the ceremony to end.

    It was hard, though.

Especially when feeling the practically tangible tension hanging in the air.
